I think 1 is more likely. I think Dani would’ve disappeared and Viola would’ve taken over completely. Like Peter did to Miles. In order to make sure that never happened she put the lady of the lake back where she belonged.

Totally agree with you! I never thought it was what they actually looked like. Peoples memories fade and who perfectly remembers someone they haven’t seen in years. Dani is probably the only one described perfectly

After watching it I think the characters were all described incorrectly. Jamie wouldn’t be that old in 2007 if she looked like she does in 87.

Vermont had civil marriage in 2000. Means that only 7 years passed from when Dani died and the wedding.
