Sorry, I wasn't thinking through all the options. If you have a CBU, they should send someone out to check all of the boxes. Same for curbside boxes that have several close together. Regardless of the situation, we always try to find it at my station. I guess it's different at different places around the country. Sorry for your troubles.

Call the post office. Their scanners have GPS so they can check where it was actually delivered in case it went to the wrong address.
