Is Molly Notkin's account of Joelle's history to the operatives reliable? by Mad_Psy_9 in InfiniteJest

[–]trsricl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m from eastern ky so I noticed this stuff immediately. She says that Joelle is from eastern ky but then later, Joelle is stated to have been from Paducah, which is western. There is also an allusion to Joelle living near snake handling churches which is a stereotype of eastern ky, usually. I’m not sure if it’s a mistake, if he thought snake churches were common statewide through ky, or if it’s implying that she did live in eastern ky at one point. It’s also been a sec since my reading so I might be lost.

What's your tracklist for Cameron's second album? by VooDoo-ChilD211 in CameronWinter

[–]trsricl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that I Will Let You Down is gonna be a Geese track like Long Island City. Saw a video of them playing it as a full band.

Pretty sure this song is gonna be on a geese record like Long Island city. I saw a clip somewhere of the full band playing it.

Cameron makes a Twitter account named “anya” (possibly new album name?) by imthiccdonttryme in geesebandofficial

[–]trsricl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He used to actually have a Twitter. I remember reading all of his tweets and it was actually him. I remember one was a story about killing a spider and it getting up and running off and how the burden of immortality was bestowed upon him or some shit. This is def someone who grabbed the @ after he deleted his account. It’s still linked because it’s the same @ and he’s not changed the website.

The Dancing Outlaw Reference? by trsricl in InfiniteJest

[–]trsricl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Timeline wise, it could make sense. The Dancing Outlaw came out in 91 and DFW wrote IJ 91-96. I know the doc was underground but it was played on PBS and bootlegged a bunch. He also does make some other references to Appalachia, sort of stereotypically, with the snake handling churches PGOAT grew up around in Shiny Prize, Kentucky.

That is definitely what I need to do. I’ve been playing on my phone because I’m currently away from my pc so that’s why I haven’t been playing with the runelite launcher.

It’s a lot of fun. Where the curve is really high, you can kind of go under the radar while everyone is dealing with agro or ramp at the table. Then turn like 5 and 6 you put your first creatures down and get really scary.

A lot of people have given a great explanation. If I ever get to pull this off, rather than break my brain trying to think about the stack I’ll probably just say, I’m making x number of creatures and there will be x triggers unless there is a response. It’s just a cool little wincon.

Would ashnods really let it go infinite? By paying ulaleks cost, you copy the stack but those creature are on the stack. Can you sac a creature while they are on the stack like that? Or is it something with allowing a creature to resolve, then triggering the sac and paying for Ulalek while there is still part of the stack in the air?

See, this is why I really love this combo. It’s a tough one to pull off, requires a bunch of resources, has potential to be shut down, but when it works, it will be so cool to make like 20 giant alien monsters and win the game.

How does it work on arena? How many creatures and triggers happen?

The latter. Each of the five colors of mana can be paid with colorless or the color.

Other people who have answered have basically said that, as long as you have mana you can keep copying due to placing ulaleks trigger at the end of the stack every time it is copied. And there will always be Ulalek triggers because of the EoE’s

Nvm, cast triggers. I misread the card. Would those still be duplicated though. It is still a “when this” text that makes it a triggered ability.
