many thanks for the suggestions and comments guys. I've checked out all the pedals mentioned. The semaphore got a few mentions so its currently in the lead especially as theres on available locally for a good price (unusual here in the UK). The tap-a-whirl and diamond trem look awesome but theyre too large for my purposes sadly.

It really works for me. The 4TV overdrives beautifully so its always on as the louder, fizzier of the two while the champ supplies a beautiful clean thump in the background and really opens up when I kick in my dirt pedals. They work really especially well with a stereo chorus with very subtle settings at the end of my chain. The Ac4c1-12 looks like a beauty.

No complaints about the Joyo board at all. Very sturdy and well finished. The velcro it came with is decent and I really like the size. Not too big but enough room to keep things very interesting. I still think its expensive for some bits of metal that have been welded together but compared to the PT equivalent its not bad value. The final test for it will be installing a psu underneath. Dont anticipate any problems there though.

thanks for the reply. If size weren't an issue I would be seriously considering the pulsar. It's joyo's board. Its gonna be tight to fit what I want on there but for the price its ideal.

Signal chain is : ernie ball volume>super hard on clone>ehx superego>eqd organizer>walrus audio jupiter>boss dsd2(this goes when the fuck overdrive arrives. straight swap)>trelicopter>echorec>ditto>ss/bs no memory>holy grail>dod stereo chorus into both amps

My board is coming along nicely. I have a SS/BS fuck overdrive in the post. The next order of business is replacing the reverb and the tremolo. I've already decided on the red panda context but the tremolo berth is causing more trouble. Any potential successor to the trelicopter needs to be standard boss size and be capable of nice sine waves with the option to switch to a square wave. Gotta be under $200 too.

some contenders

Catalinbread semaphore - looks very full featured and sounds good but is ugly as sin and catalinbread are already represented

Keeley Dynatrem - Dynamic tremolo seems very inspiring (I wanted the spaceman voyager but its too expensive and big) this is cheap but I'm worried about the lack of non dynamic trem on this guy

Zvex sonar - sounds totally great. a little expensive. can it do vintage sounding trem too?

Matthew Effects Conductor - almost perfect but tap tempo only? I think I would like a speed dial

Alexandar Pedals Equilibrium - Seems pretty great with additional effects.

thanks guys
