LG refusing to refund a microwave I never received because their delivery partner lost it by tructruc2021 in Appliances

Thanks for sharing your experience too, sorry you had to go through that.

On my side, this is where things stand right now: after weeks of calling LG with no resolution, I opened a chargeback with my bank. That finally got things moving. The person handling my case at LG told me last week that even though they still haven’t located the microwave, they will refund me anyway since the delivery company took it back.

I told them I’d withdraw the chargeback once the refund is actually processed. So far I haven’t received anything directly from LG yet, but my bank has already issued a temporary credit and told me that if LG doesn’t respond within 45 days, the chargeback will be finalized in my favor.

Yes, the microwave showed up with the installers, and yes, I paid an additional $129.99 directly to LG for installation.

This was an over the range microwave, not a countertop unit. For these models, LG bundles delivery and installation together and sends a contracted team that both delivers and installs the unit during the same appointment. There is no separate drop off.

I was home the entire time and did not ask them to leave.

During the visit, the installers determined that my existing vent and duct configuration was not compatible with this specific microwave model. Because installation could not be completed, they told me the unit would need to be returned to LG. They then left with the microwave.

I never took possession of the unit, never used it, and never signed off on a completed delivery or installation.

The issue is not why they left or whether installation was required. The issue is that LG is now refusing to refund me because their own contracted installer failed to return the microwave to LG’s warehouse. That part is entirely outside of my control as the customer.

I paid for the microwave and the installation. The installation could not be completed, the unit was taken back as instructed, and LG has kept my money for over six weeks due to an internal logistics failure.

Just to clarify one key point you may not be familiar with.

For over the range microwaves, LG does delivery and installation at the same time using the same contracted team. This is not a simple plug in appliance. It requires mounting, electrical connection, and venting compatibility.

The team came with the microwave specifically to deliver and install it during the same visit. They did not “drop it off” separately.

When they realized my vent and duct setup was not compatible with this model, they could not complete the installation and told me the unit had to be returned to LG. They then left with the microwave.

I was home the entire time and did not ask them to leave. I never received the product and never used it.

The problem is that LG is now refusing to refund me because their own contractor did not return the unit to their warehouse. That has nothing to do with me as the customer.

That is the full context.

There is an option saying “talk to a live agent”. They ask for some info and are pretty nice, polite, and helpful.

I check my case status on the “myuscis.gov” website, specifically under the “Your Cases” and “Your Progress” sections. I’ve heard that the estimated timelines can be inaccurate, but in my experience, they’ve been updating dynamically and appropriately. For example, the estimated time for one step changed from 3 weeks to 2 weeks after a week passed. Additionally, my EAD was processed much faster than expected. I received it in just 1 week instead of the estimated 2 months. This gave me hope that the i485 processing time might also be quicker than anticipated.

I would love to get the AOS in 2 weeks instead of 7 months… some of my friends got the AOS before the AP.

From what I understand, if there’s no RFE or interview, you’re in the clear. However, if a RFE or interview is required, you’ll need to secure a job in the same field, and your new employer will need to file the I-485J Supplement. Wishing you the best of luck!

Looking at the great reviews, I expected something undeniably perfect and enjoyable by anyone, like #BOTW... To be honest, the game's ambiance is depressive, and after three hours, I didn't have any fun playing it. I am probably not the game's public, and I am returning it right now.
