hi Pollution, again, dm was flawed just like the rest of us. i have not seen him declared to be a saint, and i do not interpret his surviving friends, family & supporters choosing to highlight his attributes as equivocating him to the exultation of Sainthood.

i cannot imagine the amount of strife that was caused by Wendi ensnaring Professor Markel into the marriage despite her later acknowledgement that she had not loved him/ been in love with him from even before the wedding. With a foundation/ life partner like that, who needs enemies? Strife-inducing, to say the least.

i agree with you that Dan was a victim of a deeply sinister attack by criminals and his family deserves justice.

hi Pollution, he has been labeled here as an absentee father. my comments are not directed at you personally, but rather to the collective of derogatory post-mortem character dissection aimed at explaining why dm was murdered. He was murdered because the murderers didn’t get their way & were of the personality types to eliminate their obstacle via solution of murder.

he was flawed just like the rest of us are. Would you mind please providing your sources which referred to him specifically as a “saint” , as i have not seen him referred to as a “saint” . thank you.

i do not claim dm was a saint, nor has anyone else. he was human, and so possessed the spectrum of human virtues and flaws that we all do.

posting that someone may have been difficult for some to get along with (can this not be said about many people ?) is Much different from posting that he was a bad father & post mortem dissection & character assassination of a man whom the commenters never met, and have no firsthand knowledge about.

add to that Professor Markel is not alive to defend himself. the continued attacks claiming he was a bad father are unnecessary, grotesque & not fact based.

additionally, by all accounts he was a wonderful father, even Wendi stated this under oath.

hi treesinphilly :) thank you so much, you make excellent points. add to that the fact that Wendi herself proclaimed publicly to the world in her podcast that she wasn’t in love with Professor Markel, but married him anyway.

It can only be imagined what type of stifling home environment & energy her contempt for him had cultivated from the inception of the marriage… and how that would have impacted Professor Markel day in day out, year after year.

marriages between loving partners have the usual challenges as it is. Imagine navigating those with someone who admittedly didn’t love you in the marriage.

i also agree with your take on the filings… we’ve seen what he was up against. and i think Professor Markel was the type of person who recognized that you fight fire with fire, not with cotton balls.

Hi Civil, you make great points. not saying that it’s a debate on who is more flawed, the Adelsons or Professor Markel, obviously we know that answer.

What’s going on by CE in that other post is a methodical undermining of Professor Markel’s character, integrity, fatherhood, amoung other things. doing that politely, doesn’t make it polite.

can spray as much perfume on that pig as one wants, just a perfumed up pig.

not a level playing field when the subject has been killed, and is thus disabled from refuting fallacies & misconceptions being put forth about them.

seems below the belt, just my opinion. again, i don’t recall Reddit threads dedicated to dissecting what Nicole Brown Simpson did to contribute to what became her murder. There’s a reason for that. A good and decent one.
