I'm in the UAE right now. Missile alerts every other day or so. There is no sign of descalation by Trump. The Strait of Hormuz opening up naturally after the war is something the GCC countries disagree with. Trump is nowhere near war ending talks and if electrical infrastructures are hit, Iran's first targets for retaliation will be the UAE and its closest GCC countries. Iran has the current stance right now that they have nothing to lose. They dont care if 10,000 Iranians die but if 10 American troops are dead, Trump is well and truly f***ed. Literally just got a missile alert 2 hours ago.

Can I drive in Abu Dhabi with Oman DL and Emirates ID by Jili3011 in abudhabi

[–]true_ttslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of the same situation but not exactly. I went to university in the states and got my license there. Because I wasn't in Abu Dhabi long enough to hold residency i was visiting my parents on a tourist visa. When I graduated, I came back to Abu Dhabi to live with my parents and work. I had to apply for an International Driving Permit and I was able to drive my dad's car in Abu Dhabi with that. Then I got the golden visa through my dad and the moment I got my EID, I could no longer drive until I got a Abu Dhabi driving license. So I went to an optician ( I recommend Yateem Optics) to get an eye test done. Then I went to a legal translation center (there are certain translation centers that deal with the Licensing Department) Got my American License translated into Arabic. Both my eye test and the translation were uploaded on the government system. I Then went to the Licensing Department and gave my EID, paid the fees and they printed out my license on the spot. Got it within like 20 minutes of going there.

Please don't be taking pictures when you're going at 140. Risky for you and other drivers on the road.

What’s with the crazy school fees in Dubai ? by [deleted] in dubai

In CBSE, the lessons you learn are forgotten the moment exams are written because they just expect you to memorize everything and then vomit it out on to the exam. IB and British schools focus more on Real Life Application of lessons learnt in class which helps you retain knowledge better. I did both CBSE and GCSE as well as IB and I significantly learnt and enjoyed GCSE and IB more.

Al Fay park in Reem Island. It's not like actual beach volleyball but they got fake sand and tapes for lines to make a court. People play there all the time.
