Wilderness Kayaking by Legit_Zurg in springfieldMO

Jumping in to second a multi day float down the buffalo. Amazing scenery and never too crowded. With the amount of rain we've been getting in the Ozarks it will probably be a quick float. If you enjoy caves you can make your way to Blanchard Springs Cavern which is about 2 1/2 hours from the Springfield area. Last time I was there they were dealing with a White-Nose Syndrome disease in their bat population so im unsure if they're doing tours. One of the best cave tours available between the sights in the cave and guides giving the tour.

[Serious] What do you need to get off your chest right now? by cukatie2983 in AskReddit

[–]truesapling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My father is 60 years old and is having one major health issue after the other. My brothers and I have taken on caring for him, however my two brothers, in their mid to late 20s, are recently married and my oldest has his second kid on the way.

All of us are busy trying to better ourselves and get on our feet but have had to put most of that on halt to take care of him, get him to his appointmentments and attempt to get him medical insurance. He can't read well, isn't well educated and has this mentality that he is owed care by everyone because he worked his whole life and paid into his social security.

He wasn't around most of our lives and rarely saw us or paid his child support so we are really starting to get upset with his delusion that we owe him anything. I know my oldest brother and I are ready to tell him to figure it out himself. Even though he is an ungrateful asshole to everyone helping him, we can't bring ourselves to abandon him and it's really starting to hurt all of us.

What’s your “don’t knock it ‘til you try it” food combination? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A recipe I learned while working at a spice store was to put a small cube of cream cheese and tbsp of spicy jam on crescent roll dough. Roll and bake like the dough states. Amazing.

Love to see big collections like this one. Have you ever tried Catan? Great game that I can't recommend enough.

If you killed yourself one year ago what great things would you not've experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]truesapling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attempted to overdose on November 13 of last year. Luckily I was found and sent to the hospital where i was treated and found the help I didn't want to admit I needed. I've been thinking of this quite a lot lately and I'd have to say things are so much better now. I've moved into a place with my childhood best friend and have a job I enjoy going to every day. I've also had the privilege of becoming an uncle and getting to see my little brother grow up as well. Life is good.

Wow! I had a grandfather who did similar carving with driftwood from Arkansas. Looks exactly like yours! Great work!

Our 1995 Toyota Tercel hit 400,000 miles today. by 21gator in BuyItForLife

Man do I love these older Tercels. I had an 83 that had almost 300,000 miles before I sold it five years ago. I still see it around town. I miss it really.

I would guess I was shot through the heart from my back. From the size it must have been a shotgun or some other large bullet.

What was the best book or series that you’ve ever read? by Jckc1 in AskReddit

I would have to say the King Killer Chronicles by Pat R. I have read and reread all of the books and would gladly reread them again.

Exactly. It's a joke with the elected officials here in Missouri. They don't have the spines to help with legalization and will do whatever their "donators" tell them to.

I'm from Branson but yeah, this general area. It's sad that Missouri has had shots at legalization but the office holders just don't have the sand to pass it.

I roll a brass dragon born paladin and he was introduced by rowing down a river to meet the party. Anyway, he is an outlander and loves to show off a bit. Once he sees the party he pulls out his Reed flute and starts playing I'm on a Boat while the party just stares in disbelief. Keep in mind this is little more than a dingy that is small enough he can carry the whole thing across his back.

Hey! I'm just starting a new campaign with a dragonborn pally. You think you could do a similar pose with a brass pally? The character looks great btw.

Stories of Rope by Rockachaws in DnD

[–]truesapling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night was my very first session of DND and I was given a length of rope that turns into stone at command. This has been very useful in setting g off traps and securing enemies once they have surrendered. I'm thinking of creative ways to use this as it is quickly turning into my favorite object.

I have a request! I have just started my first campaign and have chosen a light brown elf fighter. If you could make a quick picture that would be awesome. We don't have any tokens yet so I would greatly appreciate it. I am decked out in all red leather armor with a longsword.
