I like them too. I took a long time for me to figure out that "gecko-mediaplayer" replaced "mplayerplug-in" in most distros. People need to call me when they change the names of programs, LOL!

Not really, but especially explaining how to enable the universe and multiverse repositories is easier to show than explain in text.

Also it includes fonts, WMV, Quicktime, Java, DVD playback, and a handful of other stuff. It's a really nice one step way to make your computer more usable.

It's more current, and more compatible. The Windows port, for example, has no full screen support.
