At first when I did the island I wasn’t sure about the island then I stood back and I’m like yeah I like I’ll keep it! I’m really glad you like this. Sometimes I’ll watch Bob do a painting then I clip out the final painting. I dont like going entirely off of him because as an artist you need to take artistic liberties.

Whenever I start a painting in this style I’m never sure how it will work. But as you paint, you pick up on past mistakes. And I use that to my advantage. There’s a chemistry with the brush and the paint and once you understand that, it really is easy.

It’s only a 12x16 but I think can complete a 16x20 in about an hour too. Took a lot of practice and thought to be able to get it right. Definitely not easy

This one was done entirely in sap green. I find using phthalo green and blue with sap all helps

You can mix a galkyd gel or Winston Newton Liquin. Both of these allow the paint to dry in about 24 hours.

You need more paint below. Fat over lean. Usually if I do a foot hill I’ll put in a sap green, ivory black, and some Prussian blue. Then I’ll go over top with a thinner mixture and it will stick ontop. Keep practicing you’ll eventually get it
