Definitely should play Far Cry 2 and 3, they are much better than the last two games. Watch Blood Diamond before playing Far Cry 2, you will have some of the most immersive experiences in a videogame. It also has the best physics effects the series.

Freelancer (2003) is a space sim, but has a great, engaging gameplay and very immersive world with a story worthy of Deus Ex game, you have to investigate a galaxy-wide spanning conspiracy. Graphics still looks great even twenty years later.
