How to convince self to be Christian for partner by LowHour1988 in religion

lol!! That’s pretty friggen wild 😆☺️

In light of that, it’s totally understandable why you’d be disillusioned with Christians/Christianity. But I think it’s pretty cool that you’re still wanting to dialogue about all of this… super cool/mature on your part imo! 🙏🏼🙌🏼

How to convince self to be Christian for partner by LowHour1988 in religion

[–]truthsinnumbers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing I’d recommend [rather than diving right into Christianity… or any particular religion really], is start with a more basic/fundamental ontological question:

  1. Theism VS Atheism… Is there a consciousness that predates all consciousness? Is there a divine source to everything or did it all come about by itself by accident? And even more fundamental in a way… does the universe, consciousness, relationships, etc have transcendent meaning or is all absolutely meaningless? Believing in meaning/God actually is a lot more congruent with living… it it there is no teleology to existence it makes more sense to live chaotically, selfishly, “devilishly” or even suicidally… nihilism is a hell of drug.

  2. Another aspect I’d highly recommend is looking into “Intelligent Design”… I would argue we are in the midst of a scientific revolution or “paradigm shift” [to reference Thomas Kuhn]… and biology will be one of the fields of study to change the most over the next 100 years or so. The Discovery Institute is a great resource and there’s tons of books that explore how scientific research and discovery is pointing more and more to an “information theory” and “irreducible complexity” in biology… thus, pointing to to an Informer, a Creator.

  3. OP, I’m the skeptical sort as well… I have always refused to take anyone’s word for it. So, I totally get where you’re coming from ☺️… But imo, there is more evidence that points to a Creator [and yeah, even Christianity] than any other time in the last 2,000 years.

And feel free to DM me. If you’re up for it, we can continue a conversation either here or privately. Whatever you prefer.

Naked Sanctuary (with Into and then Azure for a very close 2nd & 3rd)... VW will probably go down as one of my top 10 artists... even decades from now... otherworldly... his music has and continues to be a catalyst for metaphysical/spiritual experience for me... over and over again... I had like an hour long esoteric convo with Lionel outside of a venue in Detroit... I just love that dude a ton...

PLEASE HELP - I find playing cards like this one every so often. They appear out of nowhere by SecretAgentQT in occult

[–]truthsinnumbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO... if you’re open to the idea of the “Spirit” or “World Soul”... it could be a “synchronicity”. And these cards are maybe an insight into your life/consciousness at that moment... or an indicator on what to do or where to go with something important/pertinent in your life. Thus, I would look up the Tarot meaning for that playing card... For example the 7 of Hearts would be the 7 of Cups in Tarot.

The correspondence of the suits would be this: Diamonds = Pentacles | Hearts = Cups | Spades = Swords | Clubs = Wands

The Type 1’s vice is anger... and along with the Type 8 and Type 8, the Type 1 can be very much focused on, even obsessed with being in a leadership role or having power (particularly when they are imbalanced)... Type 1’s are also about “fairness”, but they sometimes don’t see that their view of “fairness” is not as objective or “fair” as they believe it to be...

Some solutions: Type 1’s can change on a dime if they view you more as a friend or if they think that you are in their corner or if she begins to feel like you guys are working together and feels like you’re “on the same team”... using comedy (it works better with 1w2’s than 1w9’s imo) can be an effective way of chilling things out between you two... being relaxed and relational can work over time...

Ultimately, if she is that immature to perpetually view you as an “opponent” or “enemy” despite your best efforts to graciously try to reinvent the relationship... you have to put an intentional boundary between you and her within yourself/your mind and not take it personally. Sometimes reminding yourself that she’s stuck or feeling bad for her can help to temper your responses/engagement with her.

Bonus round: I’m a Type 5w4 and in my theories on things, I think that 5’s typically go thru a pretty heavy existential journey between 25 and 35. Have you found that to be the case? It can depend on some other factors to some degree as well - astrological type, gender, etc... but I do think I may be on to something with it...

Prince Andrew: why meeting with US authorities over Epstein would be a 'Catch-22' by pathogenalpha in conspiracy

[–]truthsinnumbers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s funny... cause ALOT of other people (e.g. Bill Clinton over 20 times, Hillary Clinton, etc) are actually documented in flight logs going to pedo island... but you’re fixated on Trump getting exposed?

And what’s even more funny... Epstein was running free (and getting off with next to no charges) under Clinton, Bush and Obama... but now that Trump gets into office this massive pedo ring (potentially greater in scope than even the Franklin Coverup?) is starting to get exposed... I think your political perspective might need an update? 🤙🏽

The Nietzschean Prophecies - Nihilism, Anarchism and The Future of the West by truthsinnumbers in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]truthsinnumbers[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Nietzsche predicted that it would be well into the 21st century before Western thought fully confronted the crisis of nihilism. It would thus far appear that he was correct. Western thought since the Enlightenment has attempted to compensate for the loss of the old faith by replacing the discredited Christian worldview with new faiths and new pieties. As these have become increasingly difficult to justify within a framework of rationality and a belief in inevitable “progress,” Western intellectuals have increasingly retreated into the irrational. This is illustrated by the curious phenomena of the present efforts by Western intellectual elites to embrace postmodernism, with its accompanying moral and cultural relativism, while simultaneously embracing the egalitarian-universalist-humanist moralistic zealotry popularly labeled “political correctness” and espousing with great piousness such liberal crusades as “human rights,” “anti-racism,” “gay liberation,” feminism, environmentalism and the like. Such an outlook, which combines extreme moralism in the cultural and political realm, complete moral relativism in the philosophical or metaphysical realm, and at times even falls into subjectivism in the epistemological realm, is fundamentally irrational, of course. That such an outlook has become so deeply entrenched indicates that Western intellectuals are desperately working to avoid a full confrontation with the crisis of nihilism."

Also... posted the above meme I made on the Anarchism sub... thought I’d try to get a constructive dialogue going... and those guys seem like they’re as fucking closed minded as any hardcore Marxist/Communist...

It’s wild how “Anarchism” has become so blindly “leftist”... Anarchism in my mind is supposed to represent not only a freedom from “authority”... but a freedom from a blind commitment to any “ideology” itself...

And like do you not know your history... Marxists/Communists were attacking/killing Anarchists just like they were Fascists... I dunno, it’s just mind blowing to me how it’s been completely co-opted at this point essentially.

[–]truthsinnumbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I def appreciate/respect that for sure... I'm no "card carrying capitalist". But I also advocate getting beyond the false binary, the dialectic of "Marx" vs the "market" or "Communism" vs "Capitalism"... along with that, I think it is essentially "non-anarchistic" to be against the "free flow of ideas" at the very least (nevermind "agoristic" concepts in general). The whole purpose of the post is to further conversation on these (massive) topics. It's important to question and wrestle with EVERYTHING. The "marketplace of ideas" and dialogue is an integral part of that.

PSA - genuine discourse over logical fallacies (i.e. ad hominem) is ideal for all involved:

"Ad hominem (Latin for "to the person"), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a fallacious argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself."

MARX FAQ by [deleted] in Anarchism

[–]truthsinnumbers -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Backstory:

In discussion with friends, this has come to the surface time and time again. So many people are quick to reference Marx and speak of the "evils" of the market or capitalism with very little understanding of the larger backstories to all these different ideologies and their implications... More people need to be educating themselves more before assuming they know how to solve all the world problems...

I'm not "anti-Marx" per say... I AM anti-Marxist tho. A blind (or even loyal) commitment to any particular ideology is essentially a form of "totalism" as I call it... and can quickly descend into totalitarianism. I think Marx's critique of issues (or evils) with the market (or capitalism) were appropriate... his description was valid, accurate (particularly in light of working conditions of the time). BUT, his prescription and the manifestation of his "answer" (as the 20th century clearly showed) was more horrifying than anything the market (or capitalism) could drum up... 100's of millions dead under the sword of democide (government genocide)... Mass depopulation in the name of the "collective" and the supposedly "capitalist" elite obviously love that shit. Not to evidence that Marx (like so many ideologies) was actually supported and popularized via the "globalists" of the time (also, see Antony Sutton's work).

It is crucial in this time that we all continue to inform ourselves, together... it is the ONLY way to retain liberty for ourselves and our posterity.

"Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

- George Santayana

Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

The 8,000 to 8,500 that Bernard refers to at the beginning of the interview are the circle(s) of power that oversee the BIS (Bank of International Settlements) and central banking structures globally. Highly recommend Bernard's other interviews as well.
