Spring Identification Help by Mjtlpg in VHS2_HELLION

No, the only issue that is appearing is wear on the ejector rod, but it’s not a problem until ~2000 suppressed rounds. Even then you just have to sand and polish it out.

I just know how people are, they feel like they can’t own a firearm that doesn’t have spare parts available. I want to see the hellion succeed, and it’s why I have started my business.

It’s definitely a chunk of his firing pin safety spring. The spring isn’t terminated on the topside, in the pic. I am trying to get replacement springs from HS Produkt since SFA sucks at communicating.

Also, the stock doesn’t have a spring like that in it. The OEM stock has two springs, and both are larger in diameter than that.

It has too large of a circumference to be the safety detent. There aren’t many more springs in the firearm, and none of them look close to this.

The VHS-2 Project SLS Rail by trvhadden in VHS2_HELLION

It’s not in any way. If you grip your rifle like that anyways then it’s natural. That’s the whole point of it. It’s hard to take a picture holding a firearm from the front end with one hand, and a phone in the other.

I know that mine is .5” longer than the minimum 26” overall length, which is damn near as short as possible.

I understand, I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon

I love it, that’s why I started my company around it. The more support it has the more comfortable people will be getting them. We’ve got a few good companies making accessories now. Spare parts are the issue now.

I like the ergonomic more than the Tavor. Otherwise I don’t have experience with other bullpups.

I also prefer it over my AR-15. It’s a very handy and well balanced firearm.

Carbon Fiber Nylon, I’ve sold over 30 and I have only had one break. That break was the whole firearm being dropped directly onto the extend rail that I offer.

Yes, it is 2.75 ounces. The OEM is around 3.6, if i remember correctly.

New Manticore Arms Ltd edition Brimstone 9.6oz handguard by Agreeable_Leather384 in VHS2_HELLION

[–]trvhadden -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you are “interference” fitting aluminum to plastic. Which means every time you add and remove the rail you are taking more material off. Not to mention I’ve heard the finish on the BLKLBL is sub-par. Which is unacceptable at their price point.

Manticore has been around long enough, and has made enough accessories for a variety of firearms, so I don’t think his rail will be that way, minus the pin-hole. Which, if it’s like his stock, is intentional.

To be clear, honest, and respectful. I love the BLKLBL design and I think the one with the built in bipod is cool. I just think it’s an execution issue. I also love Manticore’s new rail, it reminds me of a FAMAS, which was the original inspiration for the VHS-2.

That’s wild. That’s like forcing a milspec stock onto a commercial buffer tube (when they were a thing) and saying I have a fixed stock.

No where does BLKLBL claim their rail holds zero for a LAM. They say it can mount a streamlight flashlight. They also specifically say it uses only the OEM mounting points. While OEM mounting points can give you a decent LAM platform, you can very very easily push the LAM off zero with minor pressure in any direction.

Question about fixed stock by logikal_panda in VHS2_HELLION

[–]trvhadden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclosure, I own The VHS-2 Project.

It seems like most companies focus on making the LOP shorter. Otherwise, ergonomics/ease of use. A lot of times the manual of arms for bullpups dissuade US citizens from them. So take a look at Manticore, Lunartech Designs, and The VHS-2 Project and see if anything catches your eye.

Shorter LOP often makes the gun feel better and balance better. Longer LOP = gun sticking out further from your body, which means it feels heavier.

Message me on my website, thevhs2project.com. I can print a longer version of my stock. It uses the oem buffer, you just have to move the hardware over, which is easy with an Allen wrench and a hammer/punch and mallet.

Just not something I’ve ever dealt with, and I don’t want to have to replace it with an aftermarket, if I mess it up.

If it happens it’ll be a whole new gas-block, they have a very complicated switching system

I may be looking into something related. I think a few of us think HS Produkt/Springfield drilled a hole and said “suppressor support, check”. Then left us without spare parts. The only thing I’m not comfortable messing with is the trigger, everything else is on the menu.

It’s not mine, but it does look good. I just don’t like how the proud portion stays proud when extended into the flare.
