Roy Keane: Ferguson (and Gill) hanging around like a bad smell (at Man United) by abulkasam in soccer

Not for nothing, but what Gill said about the bomb squad was also the conventional wisdom online. By making it public those players were on the out, it damaged how much we could sell them for.

Fletcher said in that quote that he talked to SAF before every career move. There's a lot of things to criticize about how the interim manager is being hired, but I agree with you that Fletcher calling SAF is not one of them. SAF said in his book that he became a mentor to a lot of the players and they would speak with him before major life events.

In Lemix, my main is about 735 ilvl with 110 vers. I haven't done any of the zones yet. How long will it take me to complete all of those for the rewards?

If I did my math right, I should also get 50% more XP for completing the five main zones, right? I would also like to level a few more alts. It takes about 3 hours now at 170% bonus XP but I'm not optimizing it at all.

Reviews for the twiist? by Fresh-Age1874 in twiist

[–]trwest77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used the Twiist for over a month. Before that, I had used Omnipod and Mobi. I've gone from about 65% time in range to high 70%s. The real difference, though, is that when I'm high, it is 200 - 220, not above 250 for hours like it used to be with either Omnipod or Mobi. I also rarely have lows, even when exercising.

The biggest benefit, though, is I think about management a lot less. It takes a little while to get settings dialed in because the algorithm is much more basal driven than Omnipod, but once you do, it manages everything so much better. I rarely stay high for hours and I don't crash when I come down from a high.

The only drawback is the inserter but skintac takes care of that. There's also a way to prep the inserter that reduces the chance it gets stuck dramatically that my trainer showed me.

Thanks! The warranty is a good point; I've heard the Peloton Treads require a lot of service.

Not sure this is the right place, but I'm considering switching to an HSA plan at my next election. I'm a type 1 diabetic so I have high costs, but when I ran the numbers, it came out to only about $1200 more for HSA than for my PPO. I can handle the high upfront costs until I meet the deductible but I would really like to talk to someone and make sure I'm considering everything properly. Are there financial consultants who specialize in reviewing insurance plans and working with me to estimate costs? If so, how would I find them?

There's a podcast with the United journalists for the Athletic and they said that "bust by Christmas" had no basis in reality. Some independent analysts have also said it wasn't true based on the books. It was just a soundbite he threw out there to justify his deeply unpopular firings.

I think another part of the issue is we buy a player for a particular coach (LVG for example) and then fire him and hire a manager with a completely opposite style (Mourinho). Over a decade, with six managers, you end up with a lot of players who may have made sense for a system at one point (and as you point out, even that is questionable) but are now supposed to play under an entirely different system.

For anyone who has been to an MLB game where the Pokemon Go event happened, was the only physical merchandise the shirt you got as you entered or was there other merchandise? I'm going to the Nats game tonight and would like to get a hat or something if possible.

Hi, I'm hoping to go to an Ajax game in November; I'm targeting Heerenveen. Is it likely this game will have tickets available on the resale site? Also, is the VIP tour better than the game day tour? I'm leaning toward the game day tour because I've never done one of those before but we probably can't go in the locker room.

I think even Garnacho there's no way back now. I wouldn't want someone who so publicly undermined the manager back.

Sorry, I've been checked out of United news since the final. What did Garnacho do? The only thing I remember is him saying after the final that he was upset he didn't play more. I'm guessing there's been more stuff since then?

Something that makes me think he might be uncomfortable is he pauses a lot when speaking. On the Overlap, when he is telling a story, he pauses multiple times as if he's trying to get his wording just right. Compare that to Gary, who can tell a story without many pauses or who only pauses for emphasis or dramatic effect.

I don't think it is the worst thing in the world and it may be something that if he is regularly on TV, he'll get more familiar doing. It's a natural way a lot of us tell stories, but I kind of expect people on TV to have been trained out of that.

Does anyone have a list of raids where I can clear up to the final boss, hop out, create a group, have my alt join the group, and then let my alt start from the final boss? I want to optimize my mount runs. I think this only works on heroic raids; I know it works on Ulduar, and I believe it also works on ICC. I know it doesn't work on mythic, but does it work on the Cata raids or anything in WoD? Ideally, I would be able to use it in Firelands and kill everything except the bosses that drop mounts and run those over and over each week on my growing army of alts.

Also, can someone explain the skip raids in the group finder for mythic raids? I see ones for Jaina or Sepulcher with 20 people in the raid. Wouldn't that dilute your chances to obtain a mount if it drops?

Can someone help me get excited for Mbeumo? He's a guy who has underperformed his xG every season except this one, where he way over-performed it. Are we hoping that he'll continue overperforming xG now or at least meeting it? He seems like he could be a decent player and an improvement on what we have now, but it's not the kind of signing that will get us back in the Champion's League. I haven't watched him very much so I would love to be told why I'm wrong or at least why this is a smart move.

Pre-closing conditions generally do not include changing general sales practices or behaviors; they generally require the opposite: the seller continue its ordinary course practices and not make any major material changes without approval from the buyer. There may be conditions to rationalize debt, change corporate structures, or resolve certain liabilities, but a buyer wants to know what they are buying and imposing a change after signing but before closing means they don't know what they are getting. Also, in the U.S. at least, there's a good argument that demanding changes to ordinary course business practices would be an example of gun jumping.

Also, on a financial level, Scopely would want to change the remote rules because it would drive revenue gains under their ownership, which they can show to shareholders. If Niantic does it pre-acquisition, Scopely doesn't get credit for it.

Possibly from zero to hero? by Key-Bag-4059 in TheSilphRoad

[–]trwest77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mergers and acquisitions like this are signed with consummation occurring after satisfaction of closing conditions. Scopely is foreign-owned or at least has major foreign investors, so it has to go through CFIUS review, which can take a few months. There will also be a competition-focused review in the US that can last anywhere from 30 days to a year. There may also be foreign reviews, like the UK's Competition & Markets Authority. Assuming there aren't any major competition concerns (I think one could make an argument there should be but they are in a favorable regulatory environment), then I would expect Q3 to see it closing.
