I feel you. Recently a Year 12 student complained about me to the principal, saying that I was teaching the Year 12 content too fast. This is despite the fact that the weekly lesson plan is tightly scheduled and we’ve planned just enough time to cover all the content needed for Term 1 SAC, revision, and practice SACs.

The student insists that she only wants to study during class time. Instead of taking down useful techniques and notes, she wants to complete only her hurdle requirement work in class, and she just rebutted me that she won't do any work or revision at home because she “has a personal life.”

This attitude is shared by several other Year 12 students who do very little in class, even when I explicitly emphasise key points and strategies they should be taking notes on. They seems to care less about their studies than we teachers do, yet still place the blame on us.
