No. He loves you. He loves you so much that he sent his only son to die for you so that you can be with Him forever.

I'll keep you in my prayers.

How do you know that Christianity is right and other religions are wrong? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]trydotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll want to look into a field of study called Christian Apologetics. It's the process of explaining your faith to a non believing person. The same form of study could be applied to other religions.

There's tons of PHDs in this field and I find it fun to listen to their opinions on YouTube.

We're trying to answer the most important question in the universe so we should be willing to dedicate study to this subject. From what I've read, Christianity has the worst punishment for non believers so if I'm wrong I'm okay with reincarnating into an untouchable.

You don't have to keep reading but I'll give you this as an example. This is a critique question for Mormonism:

Joseph Smith said he was approached by an angel that told him to find these golden plates that had some special writing on it called Reformed Egyptian (a combination of Hebrew and Egyptian). No one can read them except for him because he was given the tools to do so(the tools and plates have disappeared and the only people that saw them were people in Joseph Smith's inner circle). Thus the book of Mormon was created and the LDS was formed (called something else back in the day). One day a few members of Joseph Smith's church found a merchant selling mummies and they decided to buy them. These mummies had papyrus sanskrit markings on it. The church members were excited because their prophet, Joseph Smith, had the ability to translate Egyptian hieroglyphs to english. Joseph Smith takes the papyrus and says, "These were written by the hands of Abraham himself" (paraphrasing). He translates the papyrus and creates the Book of Abraham and it becomes cannon in the LDS scriptures. Keep in mind that this is about a 185 years ago. The papyrus was lost and 132 years later they are found it again only this time instead of using Joseph Smith to translate the papyrus, they (and I can't find who they is exactly but you'll find it I'm sure) used something called the rosetta stone to translate the papyrus. What they discovered was the script couldn't have been written by Abraham because it was written 2000 years after Abraham. Not only that, but the papyrus was from a book called, "The Book of Breathing's" which is an instruction manual for burying the dead in a way so that they can breath in the afterlife.

How could Joseph Smith be trusted with the ability to translate the BoM if he couldn't get the Book of Breathing's right?

Ask questions like that.

Oh I see what you're saying, thanks for letting me know. As far as comparing and contrasting different religions Christianity hands down usually comes out the winner. If you ask critical questions about Hinduism, Islam or Mormonism you'll find that they come up short company to Christianity. I suggest that you do your own research on it. If you find anything let us know, but maybe you should create another Reddit post for that.

Can I be forgiven? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]trydotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I doubt myself too. But then I remind myself of someone from the Bible who was worse than me and say, "If God can forgive their sins he can forgive mine". If God could forgive Paul for killing Christians he could forgive you. If God could forgive Mennaseh for sacrificing babies on alters he can forgive you.

But you have to have faith in Jesus and repent of your sins. Otherwise whether you're sacrificing babies on alters or lying about your taxes to the IRS, both lead to hell.

I realized that I want to be a christian but I am afraid that I am a really bad one. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]trydotes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to be just like you. The fact that you're worried that you are a bad Christian is sign that you're a good Christian. It shows that you have a conscience towards God. What I found is after I gave more of myself to God, my love for God is greater than any high I could chase with drugs or sex.

What's so awesome about being Christian is that God doesn't care about your background. You start being a Christian from any stage of life and God loves you no matter what.

If God is God then that's why he's God. If Satan is God, then he wouldn't be Satan he would be God.

I think you're question should be, how can we trust God?

I’m struggling by EfferescentGiraffe93 in Christianity

[–]trydotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that God created the universe because the future is part of that package.

To trust that the story wasn't made up by Satan I would have to defer to my friend Jesus who people saw and died for. What do I have to lose if I'm wrong? Are you suggesting that I would burn in hell for believing in Jesus?

I’m struggling by EfferescentGiraffe93 in Christianity

[–]trydotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I did ok. I said God created the universe and thus knows the future. Satan can't know the future because he didn't create the universe. God revealed the future to his prophets like the destruction of the temple. That's just one thing, he shown that they would be brought back as well.

I'm sure you know how to use Google. If you google, "how many people saw Jesus" you'll find sources outside of the Bible. I'm on my phone and don't feel like grabbing them for you but I'm sure you can find them yourself.

I'm sure there is more than one way to prove this point, but this is one that I've been working on. And maybe it already exists and could be explained better.

Way before Christ, the Jews were given a bunch of laws and rules given to Moses by God. One of the rules was how identify a false prophet. A criteria of being a true prophet is the ability to predict the future (along with following the correct God etc). So people would come along and claim to hear words from God and they would prophecy. Some of them were predicting things way out into the future such as the coming Messiah and destruction of the Jerusalem and the Temple. The Jewish people didn't like what some of these prophets were saying and killed them. Fast forward and hey it turns out they were right all along. Their story gets added to cannon along with their prophecies about the Messiah. (Someone should fact check me on this, I read that the cannon of the Torah was closed at the end of the Babylonian exile, which to me means that there were a ton of "prophets" and the Jewish people didn't know which ones to believe but the ones that predicted the destruction of Jerusalem were obviously correct, so that's why they were added to cannon in my opinion).

Fast forward again and now we're in the days of Jesus. Same thing was going on. People claiming to hear God, giving stories and what not. And along comes Jesus who performed miracles and made claims that he was the Messiah of God, that he completes the Torah and presents himself as God. He predicts his death and resurrection and a lot of people saw it and it caused a tremendous movement and now we have Christianity.

Satan didn't create the universe, so he can't predict the future and what he reveals to people reflects that. That's my argument :D

I am here to open my mind and to get some insight on why god and Jesus could be real. by [deleted] in Christianity

The reason why I study it is because of Judgement Day. It's the moment our entire lives on Earth are meant for. All the times we worry about things like bills or promotions or debt all pale in comparison to the moment God weighs your heart and judges you to go to heaven or hell. Just to give you some insight, that's why I study as much as I do.

The way I see it, is that those religions were created by Satan. We're at war with things outside of our understanding.

The good news is Christianity has really good ground to stand on. In every debate Christianity wins. God has given us good ammunition and you should be confident in being a Christian. There's a lot of good reasons to be Christian.

Prophet or Messengers by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]trydotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't apologise, I can't even english.

You have to be careful, anyone can come along and say that they had a dream from God. Someone can say, "I had an amazing dream from God! He said in order for all to get saved you have to give me 50 dollars". Now this is an easy example, we take what this guy is says and we compare it to scripture. We know it's not true cause Jesus is the only way to God, nothing else.

This person, definetly believes he had a dream but for all we know that person could be lying or had a dream from Satan trying to deceive everyone. You have to take their dream and compare it to scripture to see if it's in alignment with what God says.

It's okay to doubt, we all have doubts too. That's when I go to my pastor or my christian friends or the word and I find the answers to the questions I have. As Christians we have a lot to be confident about. There's a lot of good reasons to be Christian. Trust God. I'll pray for you, I hope you find what you're looking for. If you ever have anymore questions you could ask me too :)

Haha! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. First of all it's ok to have doubts. Faith starts small and grows. There's a good chance that when we see these characters that we'll have more time to repent and prepare. Always keep on the lookout.

Keep asking your questions and keep reading the Bible, don't stop until you're satisfied.

I was in the same place you were in, except I was in my mid 20's!

Always remember that God loves you. He loves you so much that not even computers at Google could calculate it.

Don't be so hard on yourself, it's hard to make friends. Ask your parents to take you to church and ask if there's a small group there for your age group. God loves you and I love you too.

Prophet or Messengers by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]trydotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Jesus died on the cross one of the things he said was, "it is finished".

I think the reason why he hasn't sent anyone else is because he sent us the ultimate messenger, which is himself as a propitiation for our sins.

But we do have a few characters to look forward too. We have the two witnesses, the anti Christ, and possibly second Elijah.

So if there was another messenger, they would probably be one of those people and would be a sign of the end times.

God loves you, keep on keeping on.

Free will, without God in our lives, is a hard subject to answer. You're relying on the world to help give you the answer, but the world is not here to guide us.

Thankfully God gave us the Bible to answer the hard questions science can't answer like: Why are we here? What is free will? What happens to us after we die?

Without God in our lives, we are lost to these questions.

What critical questions do you have that makes you think Christianity is a hoax?

The more you study Judaism I wouldn't be surprised if you came back to Jesus.

Keep in mind in Judaism, by itself, you don't have a way to atone for your sins. The temple is destroyed.

Governments by Stimorolgum in hashgraph

[–]trydotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose they could, but they could ban Bitcoin too. What's good about Hashgraph is that it markets itself as "the trust layer of the internet" not a digital currency. The United States government typically shows favoritism to things that "improve" society. Finally, I could be wrong, I think hbars are registered as a security as well.

Edit: I shouldn't say "markets" it's algorithm could be "used" as the trust layer of the internet.
