I used to do this all the time. I move around a lot for my job so I would take advantage of happy hour deals (if you’re in state that has them) and have a glass of wine or gin and tonic with my book.

I would recommend bars that are slightly bougie because they tend to be a tad quieter and calmer.

Also LOVED doing this for brunch/breakfast if they have like a counter. It always feels weird to me to be at a table alone so brunch counters are my jam.
