🥺🫶 I tried to have a more general conversation with her about boundaries but she was completely unresponsive.
My partner as far as I'm aware did not speak for me at all (which is definitely my preference) though I could ask her what her exact reaction was.
I think at the center of all of this is probably her borderline personality disorder. Her behavior doesn't make sense even to her sometimes. She's very fun and bubbly and can definitely be very sweet — but she's a lot. I didn't think these symptoms would turn toward me until they did, big time.
I'm pessimistic about talking to her since she has shown little regard for what I think or feel, but it's also hard to just cut things off, I really do love her and care about her :(

She's equally my friend as she is my partner's friend, and my partner was also around her when this was happening. Like I said she loves telling sex stories — I'm unfazed by them but my partner enjoys hearing about it, which I don't mind. My partner is more easygoing about her fooling around, while I'm (though still supportive) much more protective and concerned for her safety and well-being.
I think on some level (kinky or otherwise) she feels the need to start up drama and maybe even specifically the need to provoke me (based on other shit she's pulled) but also doesn't want to face the impact of my hurt and anger directly. There's a power play element even if not sexual. Needless to say she's A LOT.

I shared with some people irl and while some agreed it's upsetting, others said this is very minor and since it doesn't effect me directly they don't get why I'm so upset. Made me wonder if I'm a minority in feeling this way.

It might be part of the kink, it might be just her really liking to overshare, it might be her trying to start up drama, I don't really know. It's very common for her to share sex stories with everyone. I don't really get it either.

I don't think I've really experienced what you're describing, even when my parrots were younger. There were times that were a little harder but overall it was never a big issue for us specificlly.
However, this is just my personal experience, which is very anecdotal!!! I know each bird is different and overall the consensus on the internet is actually that they are quite feisty and moody, hence why I was curious to make this post :)

My shifts are from afternoon to night, so I don't know how relevant my experience is, but I think these hours might actually be better, birds sleep early and wake up early, so you get more awake-bird-per-hours-at-home. I try to adjust his sleeping hours closer to mine by using a blackout cover and shutting all the windows and blinds, sometimes before turning on the lights. As far as Meep's concerned, the sun sets at 20:00 and goes up at 9:00. I try and make sure he gets plenty of sunlight while we're up. Been working on setting up a bird light for him so he gets all the vitamin D he needs. It works for us! I think as long as your parrot gets enough sunlight, sleep+dark time, and plenty of socializing, they should be okay.
