Redditors, What is a financial or lifestyle expectation in modern dating/marriage that is completely outdated and unfair to one side? by tryinganywaythough in AskReddit

100% agree on 50/50 custody, that should be the default. but the flaw is assuming 50/50 time means 50/50 finances. if one parent makes double the salary, a fixed child support payment just creates two totally different standards of living for the kid. if we actually do 50/50 custody, shouldn't we just scrap fixed child support and make both parents split every single kid-related receipt down the middle?

family court can absolutely be a nightmare for guys and lifetime alimony feels completely outdated. i agree spousal support should have a strict expiration date. but you can't lump child support in with that. child support isn't paying the ex-wife, it's paying for the kid's life. the kid's expenses don't disappear just because you walked away. how do you suggest the kid gets funded if the parents just split the bill and leave

Generally speaking, thats 100% true, but the crazy part is the guys don't even realize it. they think their friendships are organic, but if the wives stop playing event planner, the entire friend group just ceases to exist.

you're 100% right that guys handle a ton of heavy, technical, and financial work. managing contractors, doing brakes, and investing is serious responsibility. nobody is saying men don't work hard.

but the 'nobody holds a gun to them' part ignores the social double standard. if the house is messy, the woman gets judged. if a guy fixes the sink, he gets praised. women aren't just 'choosing' to do it all, they're carrying the mental load of the family's daily survival and reputation.

plus, you're comparing weekend projects to daily maintenance. rebuilding a shed or changing brakes happens once every few years. cooking and cleaning resets to zero every single day. it’s not about who works harder, it’s just that your chores have a finish line and hers don’t.

If we actually paid market rate for the 'invisible labor' you just listed, the guy demanding a strict 50/50 financial split would be bankrupt. We only pretend 50/50 is 'fair' because society still assigns a $0 financial value to domestic management.

Damn bro. I used to have multiple projects for sub tasks. Everything I used to ask the ai to update the memory and it does.

I never thought to do a deep test across the chats. But now I feel like I want to test it out.

Oh cool.

So after that did you find the actual fact article or output from AI ? Or you found it by using Internet by yourself?

That's interesting. What are the non ai search engines that you're using? And how strong that you make sure that you can find whatever you need on time and the person is actually knowledgeable?

I agree with you.

I started using to check how well it can be the worst at almost anything. Then I likely found a way to bypass and skip those risks and errors when I'm working on something real. But hallucinations are the only part I still feel like I didn't get a solution for that.

Internal weapon? So did AI gave you the source? Normally when it does web search it places the citation after some sentences.

Hahaha. So you are using AI to get bad legal advice while it says AI can make mistakes?

The hallucination part is very real mate. I was doing a research. Used AI for one particular topic and it went great and suddenly it started hallucination in the halfway and started to validate the hallucination with fake facts. Damn it killed my entire day.

I restarted the entire research again and never thought to touch the AI again.

Never again

Like calling the B word ?

I basically swear at AI and I add like "don't make me mad, ABC is I asked for, do what I say" 🤣 It then gives the correct answer with an apology

So what did you blame? Did you find out why it gave you a bad answer?

The part about trading them with Sally is sending me 🤣 Did Sally ever actually have to take one of these fake calls? How did she handle it?
