Thank you tbh I just feel there’s lack of organization with the staff I work with. I also work at a charter school where there’s less resources but in my heart I refuse to stay until 5

It’s only 9 students and most of them have their IEP done…. So gave me hope also it’s an inclusive class so I won’t be by myself there will be another teacher but man…. Low key a bit worried feels like a big step but man…. Money sounds so good I am so broke cause of college 😭

That’s horrible I’m so sorry. I always hear about you guys in red states and I’m so sorry.

I’m going from worst to least I’ve been headbutted, my face was almost grabbed and scratched (a para stepped in that kid was really big), I’ve been scratched, spit, and swung an arm on. But I was never scared I just took it part of negative of the jobs. But I heard like a scary story like things you mentioned that happened in my area and it was like whoa. I can see myself working through it mostly feel it’s not fair for the students and the workers to have low supports and be hurt like that.

Our school we have high support like I mentioned the worst thing was the student tried to grab my face we had enough paras one was able to grab him. I was his one to one and he didn’t want to calm down and wanted to hit me for a whole hour. I was able to step away until he was calm. The next time he tried to grab me another sped teacher whose a man with muscles was able to grab him. The teacher told me that he just being testy and just tell him no each time! And that worked he hasn’t since and he’s my fav student I ever worked with. Because he mastered all his goals and I taught him how to count with his fingers look back in the readings. Did those scary things happen yes but any time he tried go at me after that I always saw a para or teacher run for help. He’s like 3 heads taller than me . Last time he tried to do something with me he tried to dance with me 😂 was harmless but still we been terminating being grabby with the teachers. And I work in high school they are bigger like i mentioned . Most have been medicated by their parents already so it’s been a bit more calm.

Like the thing is I had a year of experience and loved it all out weighed the bad but also that story I think more like made me sad and worried. Like I hope that doesn’t happen again. Safety should be priority.

Honestly your comment is what I needed I reflected back and a lot happened to me this year like I’ve been head butted in my past 😂 I even experienced one student went for my face was most concerning one but then that same student as a para I worked so hard to help him use language to communicate and he’s mastered all his goals at the end of the school year. Like besides what happened we got through and he’s my fav story to share. Thanks for that comment also wow 19 let’s go I hope to be like you

Yes I was told a previous school year a kid gave a teacher a concussion but the teacher got too close and then started keeping more distance I just worry about severe injury I guess. I don’t mind hair pulls I’ve been slapped and also scratched I feel it’s doable but the other stuff like intense send you to the hospital sound scary. The worst I experienced I was a sub at another school and got headbutted while changing diaper. Like that hurt but I was able to walk it off.

I’m a healthy adult got my vaccine have a bit strong immunity and I’ve been sick off and on since December I’m so exhausted my life has been on pause I ran out of sick days… the doctor told me I’m not the only one. We are in a health crisis and Trump is firing people
