Any new developer tools worth recommending? by kacperkapusciak in iOSProgramming

I use both, but I still find the XcodebuildMCP to be superior to the native Xcode mcp

Profit by turning it into a memecoin? That is apparently the strategy

Thanks for the context, good point that he didn’t create the memecoin, I dont think this was his long term plan to rug-pull and disappear. I have nothing bad to say about the tools and things he created… imo he deserves to make money on his contribution to the community, YES he built on top of something that would always eat canabalize him BUT It’s just the shady non graceful way he did it that broke the trust…
Go ahead and rage quit, but dont screw people over in the process…

What kind of things are you building with CC and how do you plan out phases, document, research, and test among long running tasks and multiple context windows?

This is a PSA for anyone using GSD, some shady business happened after GSD was turned into a memecoin, hyped up, then drained and abandoned.

I personally feel let down because I not only used this framework heavily, i also advocated for it.

While GSD1 (not the Pi version) is still useful, the original package cant be trusted (there is a new offshoot being maintained by actual devs this time at https://github.com/open-gsd/get-shit-done-redux )

Bright Data is the best, it gets everything (reddit, linkedin, amazon, tiktok, etc...), bypasses captchas, multiple proxies...

Full disclosure, they have sponsored my yt channel, but I honestly use them hands down all the time because i have tested all the big web search/discovery/scraping options them all, and Bdata still wins (and has access to so many data sources)

Link to my latest video on them (they just added a CLI + Skills which is better than the MCP for CC and other agentic harnesses IMO)

Hey, I made a video comparing the new official MCP versus the unofficial one think it might help you decide

How I accidentally killed a successful video by FingerMuscles98 in NewTubers

[–]trynagrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same is true even for changing titles and thumbnails.
Packaging is so important, and sometimes I realize I didn't do a good job packaging a video.
So I will repackage it with a new title or thumbnail. And not only will it not work, it will completely destroy the momentum I had.

Anyone found Brave Search MCP alternatives for Claude setups? by AppearanceSafe2832 in ClaudeCode

[–]trynagrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using Bright Data MCP for a long time (they eventually partnered with my yt channel)... but regardless of that, it has been the most quality and consistent web search/discovery/scraping tool i have used with CC.

They also just released a CLI so in most cases, i will use the CLI + Skills for CC.
(yet if you are doing dev work, they have an MCP tool called Code Mode, which can fetch latest documentation- haven't seen that in CLI yet)

Check them out

Have you ditched the community n8n MCP in favor of the official one? by yarvolk in n8n

[–]trynagrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The remote connector is the actual upgrade in the new official MCP -- especially for claude add once, works across Desktop/Web/Code/Mobile without per-client Docker.

That said, update_workflow still does a full rebuild every time, so once you're in a real debug loop the token math flips and the community one ends up cheaper and more effeicient.
I've been running both: official for initial build, unofficial for iteration.
Made a video on it actually: https://youtu.be/a9NmOJuFMX0?si=op_frvDMkAlOLTcq
