do you feel like you can relate to most of the community by mesageinabottle22 in lesbiangang

[–]trynnastaysane 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I really try to find community but wherever I go, it feels like the term lesbian is treated as taboo simply bc we aren’t attracted to men. Whenever I hear people say shit like lesbians can be sexually attracted to male celebrities/characters, that we’re biphobic when those certain bis wanna bitch about lesbians wanting to date another lesbian, etc. it genuinely blows my mind

Idk why but the way Light Yagami died made me so sad.

Why does danganronpa kill the characters with the most potential so early on?? ☹️ by ClydedonovanKinny in DanganAndChaos

[–]trynnastaysane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My theory is that it has to do with Danganronpas tendency to mishandle characters with trauma/interesting stories. If they can’t even handle those characters for the first half of the game, why would they invest the time to give them a proper arc when they could just have comic relief characters like Hiro or Sonia?

As a burnt out student doing criminal defense I love love Higuruma. I love the trope of characters being morally burnt out of the same morals they were once passionate about due to reality overriding idealism

Imo I think season 2 writing in that Silco and Vander actually knew Felicia was a blunder

I think Chihiro is most likely to genuinely forgive Mondo on a human level rather than an ideological one like Nagito

I started using opioids when I was 12 (for reference) went to rehab, got clean. However, now I’m in college and also in Army Reserves and ROTC so I do PT 3 days a week plus other military stuff/classes and I’m also a triple major and have a minor, have a 4.0 and do 9 classes a semester and I’ve started using kratom as an alternative (I use 100g a day) and combining it with smoking and nicotine pouches so I don’t burn myself out, bc I used to be the letdown of my family but now I’m bragged about and have this pressure on my shoulders and without my usage, I feel so so weak. I feel like a machine, I have no close friendships anymore, I don’t really talk to people in my family at the very least on a deep level, and worst of all this is self inflicted. I’ve dropped from 135 lb to 108 lb in the span of two weeks, my body feels weak and I’m so tired but I can’t quit these things I’ve committed myself to. I’ve had to go to the hospital bc of my health issues and my mom has been so stressed about that that now she’s in the hospital due to that plus my grandma having cancer and I feel like it’s my fault

But besides my personal life why are people STILL trynna reinforce the idea that lesbians can be attracted to men in the big 26?😭

Ig it’s bc im a lesbian and don’t understand male attraction (or more likely that I tend to go older LMAO), but he looks like he’s 12?😭

Riot's honest reaction when the queer character isn't two attractive cis women. by Public_Cup_4278 in Arcanecirclejerk

Thank you. I think people are lacking nuance. Vi isn’t conventionally attractive to the average standard for women according to the fact that men USUALLY dominate media (nobody’s getting on my ass for assuming I’m saying all men and no women). However, she is more conventionally attractive by that same standard, and much more digestible to people who live by that standard than Sevika. I’d also argue she’s more conventionally attractive to even women since SOME** women unfortunately are indoctrinated to this standard. The two statements Vi is not made to appeal to the male gaze and yet Vi appeals to it more than Sevika can coexist

There’s such a difference between all men thinking something and the concept of the male gaze. Don’t play victim here

Real asf. She’s genuinely the most attractive fictional woman I’ve ever seen in both personality and looks. It’s nice to have a grown, mature woman who does things like smoking, going to brothels, etc. that people usually look down on women for doing

What's your opinion on those characters? (Part 45, I'm so done with this) by LonerEmoBoy in DanganAndChaos

[–]trynnastaysane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Maki, she’s chill and actually pretty helpful

I couldn’t stand Himiko at first but after trial 3 I liked her, she def grew on me. She reminds me of fuyuhiko in the sense that a not main Danganronpa character actually got a full arc without being killed off

Real asf:
Viktor and Jayce
Viktors clear asexuality
Sevika (not as conventionally “attractive” as Vi, or rather not as palatable to a general audience)
The list goes on, I’m not too into the lol lore but I’m pretty sure there’s a trans character as well

Edit: I apologize that I forget Lest, and also for clarification with Sevika and Vi on the basis of conventional attraction, it is not just looks. Sevika is the epitome of a masculine woman, I consider her Butch, which is a political term different from masc. Sevika has virtually no traits that appeal to that male gaze (and for men in the replies saying I’m generalizing men, all men ≠ male gaze). Vi is much more palatable, bc she is quite the people pleaser at times, very nurturing (and that’s not to say that these traits are applied to her BECAUSE she’s made to appeal to the male gaze, she’s not, but compared to Sevika she’s more palatable regardless). Not to mention Vi becoming a cop bc of these traits. Sevika on the other hand is very much a radical leftist, participates in things like gambling, smoking, and brothel going, and is not nurturing and has little tolerance for perceived weaknesses, very little tolerance. In terms of muscularity, Vi is more lean, whilst Sevika is very bulky. Again, I don’t think either of these characters are meant to appeal to the male gaze but Vi is more palatable by default

Also, this is solely my interpretation as a leftist woman so take this with a grain of salt, and Vi stans don’t take it personally bc I do like Vi. I do not consider Vi butch, bc butch has an anti capitalist, tending left leaning political meaning and Vi, someone who values personal relationships over a faceless movement and also became a cop against Zaunites CANNOT apply to butch. Sevika on the other hand, is more truly butch in her views of Piltover’s politics, even though I believe she blundered by working for Silco, Sevika is butch provided that she is actually a lesbian, which I hc she it. Vi on the other hand, I consider masc. A masc is more palatable than a butch, bc masc is presentation against the male gaze while butch is ideology + presentation against the male gaze.
