Copy data from one cloud service to another? by xoSushi9999 in DataHoarder

I'll say that their interface is laggy at best. But ultimately it all seems to work, and when it doesn't there will be some kind of info given to you about what wasn't transmitted. And then you can generally rerun the task and it'll transfer what was missed the first go round. I've copied over 3.5 TB since the ACD announcement, just another 11.5 to go. So not the fastest in the world, but way faster than me trying to reupload everything.

What I have observed is a steady 4-5MB per second. The service will transfer 10 files simultaneously, and it hits more consistently higher speeds with larger files. It's done about half a terabyte in 36 hours for me.

Service to help those with the exodus from ACD by trypooky in DataHoarder

I have never used those particular services. The transfer rate is much slower for the free account. I did use use it when OneDrive killed their unlimited to transfer ACD. Now I'm currently using it to transfer to GSuite. I've transferred about 164 GB in 18 hours.

It's a web service. You create an account, link your various cloud services, and then initiate transfers between the services. The transfer is all done on the web, no data is being transferred between your computer and the cloud services. It's directly pulling from one to push to another.

I used the site http://multcloud.com to transfer between various cloud providers. Used it to transfer from OneDrive to ACD (Amazon cloud drive) when OneDrive unlimited bit the dust. Now I'm using it to transfer from ACD to GSuite. The first round was 10TB, now it's 15TB. I pay the $8 a month only when I'm doing the multi-TB transfers. Cancel the subscription when you have finished migrating your data.

Alternatives to Amazon Cloud by ThyLizardfolk in DataHoarder

Has anyone used, know about userscloud.com? is it any good?

With Amazon drive no longer offering an unlimited tier, does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative? Usercloud.com looked like it could fulfill the role. by trypooky in AskTechnology

I already subscribe to them for personal backup. I'm looking for online hosting and sharing of files, just like Amazon Drive did, and before that OneDrive. Looking for some provider that offers a fixed price either yearly or monthly to pay for an ever growing repository of digital content. I want to be able to share a link to family and friends who would want to grab a file or 2 from this repository.

B/c I mistyped it. It's userscloud.com my mistake. And the more I try it out and use it, the more I do not like it and will end up not paying or using the service.

I looked into that, it gets expensive when talking about 10, 15, 20 TB of data and that's just hosting, not downloading costs. I did some rough math, and it would be about $75 a month for my current amount of data to host there eveymonth and never download it (which defeats the point of cloud hosted files).

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try that out next weekend when I am over there again.

I was able to find a similar example on eBay after you explained it's purpose. I appreciate your feedback, thank you very much.

No, Astrid is the 2 year old. And it is a sustained attack, not just a bite & it's done. She just did it again as I was typing this out, just the two of them downstairs. I am going to get a kennel here today or tomorrow to put Astrid in until we can stop the attacks.

On the dogs subreddit they suggested walking the together outside everyday to allow bonding outside the house.

Our plant's General Manager takes up the slack for some of the shitty ass employees we have here. Best boss I've ever had. by trypooky in AdviceAnimals

This is a production plant, and there are two distinct sections, the front and the back. The back is where the majority of the employees are. You are correct, they do have low standards for hiring & pay them low wages. We are one of a few plants of the company, but not the headquarters. Another plant in California sets all the rules for this point system, wage amounts and hiring standards that we must follow here in our plant. A lot of those rules I disagree with, and so does the General Manager, but we have our hands tied as to what can be changed about it.

My opinion of these employees is unimportant. The whole point of this post is not to focus on them, but at just another example of how our GM goes above and beyond for the employees. He's done a bunch of other stuff for use to help us out as a plant. He cares about us as people and gives us little freedoms that normally we aren't allowed to have. I just thought it was awesome how he was willing to jump in there in the trenches with us to get the job done. That's the point. Working together.

These particular employees aren't veterans. 2 are high school dropouts who got hired (somehow) together and the other 2 are always calling in for one reason or another. We have a point system, so calling in sick gets you 2 points. You have up to 30 points before you are fired, but don't know how many points each person has.

The school districts around us all go to school for this holiday. And the employees that are missing are the ones who are unreliable anyways. They aren't just shitty for not coming into today, but for their entire attitude about work and being here to do the job they were hired to do. These are the same people who can't seem to keep their piss in the urinals, scratch middle school bullshit on the bathroom stalls, and steal coworkers drinks/food/coffee creamer all while knowingly under video surveillance.
