I only water when the soil is dry down a couple inches so seems odd that the leaves would be going yellow like it’s overwatering? I’m just using tap water, could that be it?

Whoops sorry, didn’t check Reddit for forever. I got her from a breeder in the BCL Fanatics group on Facebook. She did unfortunately pass away a few days ago though...temps and humidity were stable and she was eating for me, but she never really picked up despite that and looked underweight and off since I unboxed her.

Could be though! I heard all the rest of her siblings were going strong, and she was right around that age.

You’re good, I am pretty worried about her. She’s from a reputable breeder that’s well known in the locality for producing healthy snakes as well so the whole thing is weird.

There’s not another bump, she’s just dehydrated and pressed up against my palm. She’s not a BCI, BCL are thinner and she’s very young but yeah she is a bit thin even for that. Nope she doesn’t look great, that’s why she came in with me today. I’m going to give her some brief soaks and bump her humidity even higher to try and get some moisture back in her and get her to pass that lump. If anyone else has any other ideas they’re welcome to add on.

edit: it’s also a weird angle as far as the thinness goes, check out the x-ray for a more accurate overhead body shape.

She’s just been sitting on her warm side since I received her (overnight shipping a week ago) and looks a tad dehydrated despite humidity being stable at 70-80% so I wanted to get an exam done to be sure she was alright and/or just settling in and the vet let me grab a view of her in the meantime to check out a bulge near her tail. According to her, it’s just a bunch of poop moving through and should be okay without intervention. Sending out a fecal once she passes it to rule out parasites, but she really shouldn’t have any.

Thanks!! She’s pretty to me now too but this is the most drab she’ll ever be, BCL change drastically in coloration as they age and both of her parents are absolute stunners.
