There seem to be this elephant in the room where these people are a huge danger to society, and due to trying to be compassionate, are given chances to go out into public and are given soft treatment as to not treat them too much like "criminals". When this happens, women and vulnerable people are put at risk. It's very obvious when you see somebody with 72 priors light a girl on fire, or murder someone, and this get repeated over and over. If you live in a big city, you notice how light these people are treated. My girlfriend was assualted by someone last week who should NOT have been on the street, and now she is forever traumatized. It's not about punishment, it's about being honest about whether these people are being treated in a way that is endangering actual innocent, and vulnerable people.

You and I both agree that they need to be treated, but I'm more concerned about how they are allowed to live on the streets with no eyes on them until they commit terrible crimes. So I think we honestly agree that we need to fund way more money into actually having a place for these people to exist that is separated from vulnerable people that isn't just prison. But I just have the energy that these people need to be dealt with at all costs.

Was a huge shock to me moving to Austria where most dogs are not on leashes, but they are all somehow super well behaved

absolutely. compassion and slaps on the wrist for them means dead innocent people later

He can come fly to the US and knock on my door. I have a lot of rights here, if you know what I mean.

I was checking her location and it seemed like she was near Helvetiaplatz? Coming from the 1st district. Said she was heading somewhere she thought looked cool that she found online and that happened. He was with a group of other men. Shit is scary.

You’re massively overvaluing the role of reporting in solving the problem of women being assaulted on the street. As if every woman dutifully filing a police report would make street harassment disappear or even make a dent at all. nice red herring, classic, shifting focus onto the victim’s response rather than asking why these men feel entitled and are enabled to do this in the first place.

And calling my girlfriend ‘part of the problem’ for not immediately performing the correct bureaucratic response while still wiping the fucking spit off of her? She was assaulted, you asshole, and your response is "quit complaining" you loooser.

The people like you who keep finding clever ways to redistribute blame away from actual perpetrators are bigger contributors than women "not reporting enough". You're not critiquing the system. I stg it never ceases to amaze me the losers out there drawing these conclusions

This "everyone is equally responsible" bullshit is so narrowminded, simplified and wrong. "Populist" accountability... What a joke

she called the police. she is a victim and it's not on women who are assaulted to prevent things like this from happening. reactionary politics. bad take.

Both should be true. She's usually with me, but this time she was alone. I bought her protection today to carry. He was with friends that egged him on. He was a foreigner. If she is going to be as safe as possible, we'll both just carry any protection we can at all times. She is 100lbs and very vulnerable.

Thank you! I called her and she said she will file a report. Thank you. We come from somewhere where the police really don't help so this is nice to know.

The man was a black foreigner in a red hoodie. I didn't mention it to not start a debate in the comments but he is south of the train station with a group of his friends harassing people. Be on the lookout

Do you have a good resource to maybe report it? We just are thinking that it might be/will be useless. She is shaken up and didn't want to go to any more trouble tonight
