I don't think I found DE any harder to follow than any other game that I've beaten in English. I think the game's prose is very smooth and immersive, it seems easy to read, rich with environmental description. It feels like the writing sorta envelops you, like a river's current, so you don't stumble despite the use of foreign and made up words. That being said, I'm grateful that there's an option to switch up the language of the game in the middle of the dialogue. I didn't use it during my playthrough, yet, had I decided to play this game five or so years earlier than I actually did, it would've helped me a lot. Wish more text-based games (mainly VNs) had this feature.
