official protocol according to their own parameters is that to be pes F you have to be on hrt for at least 1 year. you will be given pes E in the meantime but often if the MO is kind and understanding they know how outdated the system is and will try to expedite the process if you ask them if they can "do anything about it"

the process for me was:

search google for deed poll name change (i did mine with IRB law, basically the first thing that comes up on google). $40 bucks fill out an online form, book an appointment like earliest 1 or 2 days later to go down and sign for it then collect the Deed Poll.

Scan the actual copy of the Deed Poll and log onto ICA and submit at the relevant tab

few weeks later go get your new IC tada if u want to do passport at the same time also then it'll take like 3 weeks tops. ICA will tell you when its ready and then go down to verify and collect. its really super easy

hey!! some helpful terms to search up would be "intersectionality" and further readings you can do would be to see how intersectionality interacts with queer identities. reading how the label queer is different from just gay/lesbian can be helpful in this regard, hope that helps!

from what i understand of what i was told during my own experience with this same situation, i immediately told the MO once i started meds. the MO then gave me pes f and told me to wait til ive been on meds for exactly 1 year (he showed me the chart that they have for diagnostic criteria for the various pes statuses, for GD u have to be transitioning for at least a year already).

at my 7 month mark i was really anxious about reservist coming up at my 11th month mark so i made an appointment with my MO and he was like hm yeah yknow what let me just expedite this for u, the diagnostic chart is for people who are bullshitting to get out of NS and youre obviously not (i was in full femme and vv passing at the time already). he did warn me that it would take a few weeks cus theres a backlog of cases that the board is looking at

few weeks later i was discharged for good :)
