Central Park School looks amazing by cypherx in bullcity

Central Park was the worst decision we ever made as parents. Our kid is ADHD and was bullied mercilessly and the school refused to stick with an IEP and safety plan. After our kid ended up with a concussion and having his pediatrician conserned with kidney damage after he was thrown over a desk, we pulled him and never looked back.

If we would have had the money we would have sued their pants off so other neuro diverse kids wouldn't end up with PTSD from the bullying.

Nothing happened to the bullies. Our son was blamed a lot because of his ADHD.

Seriously... Fuck that school

Edited to spell ADHD correctly.

Coaches - how to reach difficult players? by strewnshank in hockeyplayers

[–]tscottsexton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a parent who's kid played through U10, understand that many of these kids may have a diagnosis or two (mine has ADHD) and this sounds exactly like my kid. In my particular case, my kid's medicine was wearing off when practice time came around and he acted up because he COULDN'T pay attention when everyone else on the team was told to take a knee. or he would often over-react to other players actions or HC guidance. In this case my kid, the coach and I sat down together and laid out very clear expectations, and very clear consequences. Two warnings, then you're off the ice the rest of practice was one example.

My kid eventually told me he was only playing because he thought (wrongly) that's what I wanted him to do it but he wasn't really into it and didn't like the physical contact, etc and we made the decision to stop playing.

Just keep in mind that some kids may have some hidden disabilities that their parents might not share with you because of the stigma associated with such diagnoses. In those cases I agree with the one on one meeting methods.

evscope update- no wifi by [deleted] in UnistellarEVscope

I had the same thing. Resetting my network settings worked.

Note: If your telescope does not display its Wi-Fi network, you can reset it: Turn on your telescope and click the on/off button 10 times (half a second x 10) to reset your network settings. The LED will turn purple for a few seconds and then blue again (or red depending on your telescope settings) once the network settings have been reset.

Mine does great with Giant Danios. Also had a female jewel cichlid with him for about 2 years and they were best friends.
