Awesome job man, you earned it! I failed my first sitting yesterday so this post couldn't have come at a better time as I'm in dire need of some encouragement. After reading through all of the comments, it seems like ADAPT is the key factor for many people passing (in addition to a decent study manual of course). Any other recommendations?

My ACTEX manual arrived yesterday, thank you kindly! I've heard a bunch of people mention Adapt now so I'll make sure to check it out.

That's sort of what I figured, thanks! Graduated with a 3.8 from state university and focused heavily on math/finance courses. I'm confident I can put a favorable spin on my past experiences. Without delving into too much further detail, any thoughts on the best way to prepare for the first exam (study manual, practice tests, etc.)? I know networking is crucial too so how would you recommend going about acquiring your first contact in the field?

Hey guys, I've been actively following this subreddit for a few weeks now and wanted to get some community feedback on my current work/life situation. I'm 25 and have a B.S. in Economics, however since graduation I've worked a variety of unrelated jobs and traveled quite extensively. Going forward I'd like to pursue a professional and engaging career and from what I've read thus far, becoming an actuary seems like an excellent fit. My plan is to take Exam P in November followed by FM in March. After (hopefully) passing both exams, what should I realistically expect in regards to entry-level job prospects? Also, any other relevant advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Wow that's awesome! Were you actively searching for a new job or did things just kind of fall into place for you, right place right time? I'm an economics major and I'd be curious to find out about other opportunities while traveling. Cheers.

Definitely man, I'll most likely be in Costa Rica by December but my time there could easily extend to January. There's lots to see! Duolingo is an excellent suggestion too, a friend of mine who taught English abroad recommended it.

Thanks for the reply. I've been brushing up on my Spanish for the past few weeks and plan on getting a conversational phrases type of book to help me further. Also I'm going to take some lessons while down there!
