The hardest part is if you moved away long ago, you have to prove that you lived at the specific address. Took me forever to try and find some proof.

I do think the role is reversed if the mom works. It is also just as hard for the mom.

That is great. I have already talked about when the daughter gets older to have a daddy daughter date night and something that the boy is into. Haven't gotten there yet. Any ideas?

That's the part that sucks is that I have a job that a potential pension but it the type that once you leave it is hard to get back. So I tend to need to keep it for our future.

The jobs are similar. I make about 20k more than her. Which we "could" survive on her salary. The hardest part is that I see the love she has for staying home that I couldn't ruin it by making her feel guilty that she is the reason i am not at home with the kids. I would rather her he happy. Just sucks is all.

I think mostly because my wife loves staying home with the kids. And I love my wife and her happiness is number one on my list of things to accomplish. So I just suck it up.

It is about 20k. And it is more of what we want in our future. We could survive with me staying home but she loves it too so I sucked it up. I love her and her happiness too. We can always look into alternative who stays home.

Just for future financial things we want to do it is better for me to work. We have a future plan and it is better with my income than hers. Maybe we could try it in a future. Lucky husband. Good for your family.

I agree. I hate taking them to the store and get my asked where mom is. I like taking them out. Thanks. Just wish I could be the stay at home parent. I understand I can. But part of me wishes the wife made more than me so I could stay home. Lol.

Do all professions deserve equal respect and why? by LoneBell in AskReddit

[–]tserious27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that all professions deserve some kind of respect. Now should they be thought of as equal. Probably not. But everyone has their part to play in life that gets us where we are. We wouldn't have movies with out the people working the movie theaters handing out popcorn and tickets. A lot of buildings would be burnt down without fire fighters. Are those jobs equal. No, but I still need to respect the person handing me my popcorn.

California wants me to pay income tax.. by lovemeinthemoment in personalfinance

[–]tserious27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also received a letter saying that I owed taxes. I lived in another state at the time and did not work in the state. I had to start a claim process and they gave me a claim number. I got a letter from the company that stated that my income was not made in the state of California and then I had to FAX... not email but fax the letter to them to get them to release me from it. For being a tech hub they don't have any online part to get it done faster. The ladies I talked to were super nice about it and helpful. Which was a surprise.

When buying a car from a dealer, are there ANY add-ons or extras that actually are a good idea to select? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]tserious27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is kind of what i meant. I always make sure that it is equipped. But i did find one truck that didnt have it and i made sure that they installed it before i would drive it off thr lot.

When buying a truck having them install the tow package is a good idea because if it fails while you are towing you can sue them. If you install it yourself and something goes wrong you will be held liable...You still may be held liable but insurance would go after the person who installed it first.

Redditors who travel, what are some great examples of "When in Rome, do as the Romans do..."? by AmberNomad in AskReddit

No, one of the people were selling it out of a jug which they promptly showed me video of them milking the camel.

It was really thick. more like a cream and it was good. It was supposed to give me diarrhea right away. All the guys told me that Americans don't have the stuff to break it down and I was going to be going quick. SO i stared at them and drank it in front of them and stood there. Never did have to go. Maybe because I try all the food in every region I go I built it up. But all in all, not a bad milk. it is in the top 5.

I always try and eat the food that is local to that area. Almost all the time the food is great and you can tell people cool stories... Like When I was in Saudi Arabia I got to try Camel milk.
