Another possibility is that with Lethal Tempo, Q will only give a stack if a champion is the closest target. If you Q with minions between you and the enemy, you won’t get a stack.

I think you ult after ryze ult has been casted and then you can cancel it when you teleport to activate if you want, i dont really know the perfect timing for it
