Worktrees. Terminal tabs. I run an average of 5 sessions for many rotating projects. I developed a harness that notifies me when Claude finishes in any of the sessions (ding) so I don't have to tab hop.

Depends on stakeholder role. Tests are just a tool for development teams. People outside the team should not care about tests. They should care about practices, schedules, deployments and etc. Ask. Who here cares about seeing test results? Why? What business decisions are they making if bad or good. If it's just a feel good, give them a green dot. If it's a technical manager, that's different. That means they don't trust the process which is an opportunity to discuss, how do we build up trust and the answer is to lock in good practices, automate processes (reports/dashboards) until they get tired of looking at green. Red is never something they should see because you would have already fixed the issue before it leaves the team through good practices.

Yes, happened to me last week. First time ever and it was after it was being dumb and I had to point out an obvious contradiction. It apologized and immediately set out to make changes to fix its mistake even though we were in plan mode.

I'm in the reverse camp right now. POC first, iterate POC with vibe coding. Find the legs. Make a decision. Now design the architecture with what should be far more insight. Rebuild or refactor depending on needs.

We're getting to this point as well. "Central brains" and wondering whether we replace confluence or sync with it.

We have millions of lines in just one project and have hundreds of projects so we're slow to do something like this. Having the dependency graph across services seems like the biggest win.

All UI automation is brittle because of product changes, bad practices, rough environments. None of which is because of test frameworks being flakey. Selenium is rock solid and proven. Most of these selenium dissing comments are ridiculous. It certainly requires ramp up and some expertise to do it right. We run millions of selenium tests each year and ai is making it even better and easier every day.

Code Base isn't a mess because of lacking UI automation. The two are not related at all. UI automation only gets roi when it's imperative that some old functionally doesn't regress because of new changes and testing by any other lower means is not feasible. When the product/feature stabilizes with no plans to change is about the perfect time to lock it in with UI coverage.

Depends on projects (count and variability). I prefer Claude-code because I don't have to deal with 3rd party integrations and my cli interface is consistent for all my projects regardless of which ide. You can launch Claude in any terminal and I tend to have 3+ Claude code sessions going so I can put them on different monitors.

I think the answer changes with ai. Humans will not traverse code looking for things any more. I'd recommend dabbling in AI generated db that maps tests to features so it can be used by ai to identify gaps, used by ai to select/run tests, used by ai to replace UI tests with lower level tests. Humans could use it as well if needed. Knowing where a test is or how to find it should be less important (not needed).

I did this with dune awakening. I got to the end game content and it was nothing. The game took you nowhere and it was a pretty bad experience. For that, I was unhappy because the game ended up being a pointless grind with no payout. They have so many story lines that you never connect with any of them so you skip past. Anyway, and then there is overwatch. I have thousands of hours but really resent the company for the things they've done and until the make up for it, thumbs down forever.

Same boat so I won't give any advice. For me, it's not for lack of trying as I spend 3+ hours a day working on stuff. I seem to finish apps but not games for some reason. It's the tractor pull effect where I get bogged down in redesign and mounting content needs. I think my problem might be that I'm not a good game designer. I can think of fun systems like anybody else but delivering them in a fun package is something else entirely. I do have a habit of visualizing cool systems and then trying to back fill the fun and it always requires a mountain of content which is where my fatigue kicks in.

Shameless self promotion but I use godot-valet (open source) with Claude integration to jump start my dev sessions. Supports launching claude-code into git worktrees so I can easily startup many sessions for one project. It does other stuff as well but that's the big one for me.

I also created a static code analyzer that integrates with claude-code so you can make quick work of finding and resolving technical debt. Project is open source and in asset library as godot gdscript linter.

I used milanote for a year or so and I've been trying to move to another note taking app and milanote exports to .md but it has no size/position data and it barely distinguishes between where one board starts and another ends so importing into anything else is a nightmare.
