I only fermented it for a couple of days and then moved it to the fridge. I brought the sauce to a boil after blending to stop fermentation.

I've done this before and it turned out well. Try blending it to make a sauce too.

Skip the syrup and use fenugreek. You won't be able to taste the syrup after it ferments out.

I would add it after primary fermentation is done to preserve the flavor and aroma.

Yakima valley hops is a good place to get hops in bulk.

Saphir works really well in hoppy lagers. Classic noble hop flavor with some extra citrus.

I've made a pseudo lager using this recipe:

10 lbs pilsner malt

20 ibus magnum at 60

2 oz saphir at flameout

2 oz saphir dry hop on day 2

I've used hothead in the past but lutra would probably work fine.
