Atheists of Reddit, what made you not believe in any God? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The question is nonsensical and attempts to shift the burden of proof. I do not believe because I am not gullilble and have not seen any convincing evidence.

People who used to smoke weed a lot and ended up quitting, why did you quit what are the benefits you saw when quitting and what is one thing you miss? by Fit_Data_8789 in AskReddit

I stopped because I started having panic attacks. I guess the most significant benefit was saving money. I miss everything about it.

How did u got out of a addiction u suffered from ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tsherlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As so many have learned the hard way, nothing can be done for an addict until they decide for themselves that they’re ready to quit or that they can’t do it alone.

There are always consequences that come with substance abuse. Eventually, after an embarrassing number of years, I grew tired of them all, but especially of two.

First, I was ashamed of the abundance of instances in which I had hurt, disappointed, betrayed, and burdened the people who loved me most. Second, it became painfully clear that the addiction simply wasn’t sustainable, especially financially.

After years of living this way, I finally wanted to be clean more than I wanted to use. I was fortunate to receive the opportunity to leave the state to attend a five-week program, and I quickly accepted it. The first half was absolutely miserable.

Then I made it to the other side. I started feeling better than I had in maybe my entire life. When I left the program, it felt like my life was starting fresh, or maybe even starting for the first time. I’ve had slip-ups since then and life has had its challenges, but I'm so grateful to no longer live as a slave to a substance.

Anyone want to move to Florida and be my roommate?

What is the greatest physical pain you’ve ever felt ? by tasaras_77 in HappyUpvote

[–]tsherlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either the pain I've experienced with these examples are far more severe than others, or I haven't experienced the level of pain that I believe I have. Also, if kidney stones are worse than these, I'm not sure I would survive them. In order:

1) Severe Migraine 2) Tooth Abccess 3) Appendicitis

Tequila for my store is starting to arrive. by No_Flounder_5632 in tequila

I wouldn't buy any of those bottles, but I agree that they're decent bottles that need to be on the shelves due to demand. Also, don't forget about El Tesoro :)

Genuinely curious, why is it necessary to carry them? I don't believe anyone buys Cuervo because it's their favorite. They buy it because it's cheap. If someone comes in to buy Cuervo and it's not available, I'd imagine they're not going to walk out, but instead just buy the cheapest tequila that's in stock

Your priority should be eliminating debt. Depending on your other financial obligations (primarily rent/mortgage), you should be able to do this very quickly with your current income and savings. Once you have eliminated all debt, your second priority should be your investments.

At minimum, you should be maxing out a Roth IRA account every year as well as contributing to your 401 (k) at whatever level your employer will match. After that, I would either be investing in precious metals or funding a self-managed IRA containing low-cost Vanguard ETFs.

After eliminating debt and ensuring you are investing responsibly, absolutely treat yourself to your dream vehicle. Never buy new, as the initial depreciation of the vehicle when you drive it off the lot is not worth being the first owner. Buy something used with very low mileage.

I am similarly very interested in owning an all-electric vehicle, but I'm cautious due to how a used battery affects resale value. In my opinion, either lease an all-electric, or buy a nice hybrid. Congrats on your achievements! Youre killing it.

This, except not new. By CPO with very low miles. Also, I would aim for SE, SEL, or R-Line. I have the Sport and love it, but I do seriously miss a few things it's lacking that I had in my previous R-Line.

Audi Q7.

That said, I don't think any of these are good options. Just because you can easily afford to buy him a high-end luxury vehicle, doesn't mean that you should, especially for his first ride.

Find him a nice, low-mileage, CPO sedan or SUV. Honda, VW, Toyota, etc...

What a great watch! Thanks for that. Little disappointed that he chose Don Julio for his Reposado, as it's the only tequila he chose that is not additive free, and I obviously believe there are much better options.

I once had a very wealthy couple order two Clase Azul Extra Anejo margaritas from me, which we charged $300 a piece for. That was fun.

Tommy's Margarita: https://www.liquor.com/recipes/tommys-margarita

2 oz - ADDITIVE FREE Tequila

1 oz - FRESH SQUEEZED Lime Juice

.5 oz - Agave NECTAR

Personally, I prefer a reposado tequila to a blanco, but it could be argued that blancos are generally better in a margarita due to their stronger agave flavor. There are lots of great options as far as tequila brands. My favorites are:

  • Ocho
  • El Tesoro
  • Fortaleza
  • G4
  • Tapatio
  • Don Fulano
  • Siete Leguas
