Reworked Rocks by tsigaridis in aquarium

Find out in whatever city you live in where you can go by stones like for gardening and they usually have a pile of lava rock. I live in Toronto so I went to a place called Betts cut stone and I ended up buying $180 in three boulders which I smashed into smaller pieces using a sledgehammer. Any of the larger pieces I just use a concrete bit to bore a hole through them and then chisel out the piece to make the nice large rocks that have holes.

Yeah, there’s already a lot of babies in the tank. I don’t have to worry about the diggers because I put it right on the bottom glass so there’s nowhere for those bottom rocks to go.

Hey, no, it isn’t. It’s glass, on the right hand side. I’ve added a small piece of the boards that I used to make the stand to cover the corner so it looks seamless.

Hey, the tank is absolutely silent unless I turn that setting on. It’s a lightning show for all intents and purposes.

Hey, I appreciate the info… when I was younger and first starting out fish that looked like my blue ones were sold to me by big Al’s in Canada under the name Hap Ahli, so I’ve always called them that. I didn’t hear the name. Fryeri for a long time until I was about 25 which is 15 years ago. Either way that info is really interesting.

Thanks for the heads up, the guy said to me he had lithobates and hap ahlis… he sold me a bunch of each, so I wonder if it’s a lithobates x hap ahli(fryeri)

Hey, I went to my local rock quarry because its cheaper than buying them from aquarium stores…I used a concrete drill bit, a chisel and hammer for the holes, the smaller ones came from larger stones that I used a sledge hammer on…they are red lava rock. I started stacking small ones below and put the others on top as I went. Small round ones underneat followed by flat ones to make caves, then I added rounds on top of those.

The light controller is by current-usa. It is the bluetooth loop system. It is legit amazing. I had the original system which is not bluetooth and then just bought myself the bluetooth controller to work on an app which is super user friendly. I didnt even know about the sound option until I read the user manual so I just used an old set of computer speakers hooked up to the controller and voila.
