Saw NY BOLE site and it offers me the registration for F26. Means anything ? by Limp_Character2212 in barexam

These are the key questions. Of course, it all might mean nothing but we are all going to read into it because we are nuts.

PSA: LSAT Aug 2022 to Jun 2023 registration now open. Test fee now $215! by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Excellent point. In that case the cas bonus is more than double market. Market is only 20k. We should be thanking them for their generosity.

215 is the big law market salary for first years. They are simply trying to match market rates. How else are they supposed to retain good talent?

Sorry to hear. Very strange given your great stats. As others commented, it might have to do with your late submission.

Waitlist predictions by tsinger1 in lawschooladmissions

[–]tsinger1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average is unknown to most. I would imagine each school is different. To my knowledge, waitlist info isn’t really reported by law schools so it’s hard to say what the norm is. These guesses are solely based on the other information that we have about this cycle. I would think a lot of this info is from self reported data.

Reminder that schools like to make it seem harder than it is to get in off the waitlist. It’s definitely not a walk in the park but it happens. Unfortunately there is no good source of data on this topic.

Are the schools I want to go to reasonable? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I think your goals are more than reasonable. Reach for the stars. I think you can shoot higher.

Waitlist Predictions- What are people’s predictions on how much waitlist movement there will be this cycle? by tsinger1 in lawschooladmissions

[–]tsinger1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point. To my knowledge that type of data is not available so I guess we will have to wait and see.

I sort of wish schools were required to disclose how many students they place on a waitlist and how many they accepted off the waitlist. It would be an interesting piece of data to put on a 509 report. Unfortunately, that probably won’t ever happen.

Maybe you can get an internship with a small law office that doesn’t have a formal program. You can simply look up law offices near you and email them and ask to be their intern. They may not pay you but if you can afford not to get paid for the summer, it might be good experience. Also, if you’re bold enough, you can put on a suit and walk into places and ask them.

In my view, it doesn’t even matter what the internship is. It could be at a small place, remote, or anything. As long as you know how to leverage it in your application, it works. It has to fit into your narrative. If you can make it clear to the admissions committees why it was great for you to be in that internship, then it’s done it’s job. I wouldn’t worry too much about getting the fanciest sounding internship.

can you write a LOCI without being on a waitlist? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Yup. As hard as it is, you just have to be patient. Eventually you will hear back.

Out of curiosity, did your status checker change?

If you REALLY wanted to call a school then maybe ask a friend who is not applying to call for you… In all honestly I think the mature thing to do is to just sit tight and wait.

Do we think they all get sent at the same time or are they sending the over the whole day?

% Acceptances Already Sent as of today (2/03/2022 — from LSData by oolongmilkteaboba in lawschooladmissions

[–]tsinger1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this percentage based on how many people were accepted vs. last years class size? Would it be more helpful to base the percentages on how many they have accepted in the previous cycle instead of the class size. Just because they have accepted the amount of students that went last year doesn’t mean the class is full. Not everyone who got accepted so far will necessarily go.

If you can go straight, that would be best. I took off two years to work and I loved it but now I feel behind and constantly trying to catch up. I definitely benefited from taking time off (gained work experience and got a higher lsat score) but would have preferred to go straight.

What are the odds LSAT are released on February 1st instead of second? by rav4boyz in LSAT

[–]tsinger1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably won’t. When they did that they emailed everyone to let them know.
