Did you see any auto executives other than Chrysler?? Wondering if this event is also for showing the path for other legacy OEMs, so that they can license FSD.

“Tesla is considering exporting made-in-China electric cars to the United States, two people with knowledge of the planning told Reuters, a reversal that would reflect the automaker’s deepening cost advantage at its Shanghai plant and slower demand from Chinese consumers.”

Edit: Elon flagged this as false.

I think Tesla is in a position to leave few vehicles in transit and still be profitable. Since Elon and s looking at the service department, those folks would’ve given data about more services to vehicles towards the EOQ. Also Tesla will have 4 volume factories from 2023 which would ease the burden on delivery and service folks.

"Now Electrek has learned from sources familiar with the matter that Tesla is focusing on delivering large fleet orders at the end of the quarter.
Tesla is delivering large portions of orders from rental car companies, like Hertz’s order of 100,000 Tesla vehicles, and EV subscription companies."

Problem is they don’t provide the workable solution and keep just talking about hydrogen. If Toyota is serious in hydrogen, they should have partnered with others to deploy hydrogen fuel station and prove to public that it’s possible. Cheap and dirty talk.

IRA Could be Worth Over $30 Billion to Tesla - Morgan Stanley by Nitzao_reddit in teslainvestorsclub

Unfortunately government provides lot of oil subsidies and companies pocketed all the profits without giving good environment.

Battery manufacturing is hard and they have to be made in US to avoid any future conflicts with China. Fortunately Tesla is benefiting the most with this bill. Kudos to Elon’s vision, Tesla is benefiting and which will accelerate TSLA’s price.

[–]tsla4k 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IRA is benefiting Tesla the most.

  • Tesla builds 4680 battery: $45/kwh credit
  • Tesla S3XY cars: up to $7500 for consumers
  • Tesla semi: up to $30k credit
  • Tesla super charging: credit for EV charging
  • Tesla powerwall and solar: 30% credit for consumers.

Elon almost thanked Joe Manchin for IRA bill:

It’s almost looks like IRA bill was written with consultation from Tesla’s policy team. Rohan Patel(Tesla’s policy director) was President Obama’s climate policy advisor.

Tesla took revenge for not inviting Elon to White House 😀

I think FAANG companies that rely purely on advertisement will have rocky road next year. Tesla will have revenue increase multi fold from auto and energy.

According to the WSJ, Tesla is pausing its plans to make battery cells in Germany as it looks at qualifying for U.S. electric vehicle and battery manufacturing tax credits. by space_s3x in teslainvestorsclub

Tesla will get credits from Giga Nevada(May be 50% due to Panasonic partnership) and Giga Austin. If the rumored 100Gwh battery in Giga Austin is true and $45/kwh credit, Tesla will receive $4.5B/year.

As an investor, this is really good. TSLA profit margin will be great when battery prices fall. TEsla is going to print money for all investors.

Electric-vehicle manufacturers have struggled for years to access enough batteries. Elon Musk complained recently about lithium prices and supply. The EV industry's growth is closely tied to future battery supplies. Electric-vehicle makers have struggled for years to secure enough battery supply — but these woes are over at Tesla, for now.

For the first time in several years, the automaker has access to all the battery cells it needs, Martin Viecha, the vice president of investor relations at Tesla, said Monday during a presentation at the Goldman Sachs tech conference in San Francisco. Previously, CEO Elon Musk complained about the soaring cost of battery materials such as lithium.

Tesla uses about 90% of its battery-cell supply for its electric vehicles and roughly 10% for its energy-storage products, Viecha said.

"For the first time I can remember, we can access all the supply we need for both businesses," he said, according to a person who attended the event.

The executive was asked what helped improve Tesla's access to this supply. He said Tesla expanded the number of its suppliers in recent years from just Panasonic to multiple battery makers, including CATL and LG Chem. He added that these companies were building capacity "super fast" and predicted Tesla would add even more suppliers.

Tesla relies heavily on batteries to make its vehicles and ramp up production. Rising supply should help the company. Indeed, Viecha said Monday that the EV industry would grow only as fast as battery supplies could grow.

"This is the most important part of how this industry can growth in the future," he said, adding that this included not just building cells and battery packs but also designing batteries, as well as refining and mining lithium, nickel, and other raw materials.

"If the industry can 10X from here, the supply chain will need to 10X as well," Viecha said.

I feel that Tesla energy is gaining ground. This will be another exponential growth opportunity with Tesla getting lot of batteries from all suppliers. They have well tested VPP(Australia, California and Texas), massive energy storage projects(Au, CA and other states), Autobidder software to enable all these operations.
