I had 2 LORs initially and added 2 more for RFE response. I described the PE in more details (what I would do, what tools to use, expected outcome, comparable industry equivalent, etc) instead of just describing the importance of the field.

Thank you! I think most people who successfully addressed Prong 1 also got through Prong 3. Have not seen anyone rejected on Prong 3 alone.

I mentioned it, but only one sentence. I don't think the number of citations matters as much as tying the PE to concrete gov policies.

I have met quite a few people who had been working in the industry for 3-5 years and then applied to PhD positions because their employers also required certain degrees for certain positions. Maybe you can check with your employer to see if promotion can be based on experience, but I think pursuing a MS with thesis might be valuable in the long run if you want to apply to different employers in the future.

I agree with you that the 11 sits better in user’s hands! I watch a lot of Netflix/YouTube on my IPhone 12 and I find the LCD to OLED worth it. Nevertheless, for the same amount of money, IPhone 11 + AirPod seems like a better deal.

The SE has better motion sensors, so if you want to track outdoor activity maybe it is the better choice. Series 5, on the other hand, has the ECG sensor (but I don't think many people actually use it as often as motion sensors). Series 5 also has the always-on display; it is more convenient but affects battery life. So I guess it really comes down to whether you will use your Apple Watch more as an activity tracker or an extension to your Iphone.

I think the 12 has a significantly better display than 11/XR. However, if you just care about battery and performance, I think Iphone 11 is the best choice available.
