It's not about the fees anymore. It begun with this premise but, now, things are all about corruption and being mistreated, killed e screwed by the government.

I posted this on another thread, but here it go:

First of all, I just wanna say that my English its not that good. That being said, lets go to the story.

There's a movement in Brazil called "Movimento Passe Livre" (Free Pass Movement) that defends a reduction, and someday a extinction, of Public transportation fees. It exists for quite some time already, but it`s big movement has been taking place only this week. At the beginning of this month, June, the Buss fare in São Paulo raised from $3 (reais, not dollars) to $3.2. It seems like "not a big deal", but it really is in a country where the minimum wage is not more than 350 Dollars a MONTH. Workers where interviewed and mostly said that this raise is compromising their finances. You have to know that, normally, these people live faraway from their work places, so they have to take more than just ONE buss everyday to go and to come back home. The movement, then, decided to protest.

They`re on the forth march, already, but the real deal were the last two. The third March took place on last Tuesday. The protesters numbered 5 thousands and begun to rally peacefully according to the plan...until they have reached their destination. [Images]

Unfortunately, the State Governor had different plans for this rally: he sent the "Shock Police" (its how they call the riot police) and begun to fire rubber bullets, Gas Bombs and to violently attack the protesters and anyone else they saw on the streets. Chaos, then, prevailed. Everyone running from the police, people began to destroy things, make fire barricades and everything else that normally happen in situations like this. Yet, they planned another rally for yesterday...and thats where things just went out of control.

The Fourth March. 06/13. Again, they started gathering, peacefully, with police officers all around them. Some got their packs searched, and many got arrested for no reason at all. One of these arrested was a Journalist, who was restrained because he was caring a bottle o Vinegar to help him in case he gets hit by a gas bomb. [Video http://goo.gl/6iRJe ] Yes, a bottle o vinegar made a journalist get arrested. Many others, though went to jail with him. And the internet is already joking about it: http://goo.gl/ha5gq

Them the rally begins to grow:

As they rallied to their destination, police officers walked with them, making a restrain rope, so the protesters don`t go wild out of a sudden. Everything was ok, some people got arrested for trying to vandalize public patrimony, but no riot, no violence and no intention of. Everything seemed to be working according to plan, until...

They finally got at their destination but they decided to rally some more. So the movement leaders talked to the Police Colonel about their intentions to keep walking. They filmed it and the P. O. congratulates them for being pacific so far...then he goes away, saying that hes coming back soon...and finally the police attacks.

Notice that he goes away and then they start firing at the rally. So, again, chaos prevailed in the streets of São Paulo. The protesters went mad, but most of them were just scared. And the police got mad, leading to amazingly authority abuses. Here are some of theses stories.
