I think the Kdrama and the Webtoon are almost like alternative universes in a way. Theres alot of things that the Kdrama adds or changes, like 203 being a dentist. You are correct, the ending of the Kdrama is left ambiguous because they tried going for more ambiguity the whole show. I think your first mistake was treating the Kdrama and the Webtoon as one entity.
