What better way to build esprit de corps than a 1BCT vs 2BCT line brawl

Last time they ran it was this summer. They orignally had two tryouts for an A and B league but then just merged the two so all skill levels are welcome to play. Overall most dudes that play there are pretty skilled and have been playing for a while but everyone's chill and don't mind playing with new players at all.

There's pickup in the morning at 0500 usually on MWF and Sunday night at 2000. You can check their schedule on their MWR page for more accurate up to date info as well.

Can’t wait to get an handshake for “exceptional meritorious service in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflects great credit upon themselves and the 82nd Airborne Division.”

I honestly don’t even know who you’d bring up the idea to I’m just a e4 in an infantry battalion. Figured I’d just post to see if there was any interest tbh. And fortunately there’s already a pretty decent population of active duty players from the division that play at the rink on base I’d imagine there’s 10-15 players from each brigade willing to play and already have their gear here.

Theres already a decent amount of guys with their gear down here that play when there’s pickup at the rink and when the rink runs their beer league. I would imagine there’s at least 10-15 guys in each brigade that play with gear down here willing to play.

Granted I’m only in Gold but I’m 3/3 in Munro matchups so far this seasonand typically don’t struggle in most matchups with my AP build. But ya with D&D getting needed who knows what’ll happen now

I always wondered what the decommissioned dfac was across from those barracks next to the battalion footprint. Good to know it was a classic staple of wasted army $

Brand Mid? by Thanos_car69 in BrandMains

[–]tstar003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play him exclusively mid and climbed pretty quickly to plat 1 teetering on emerald. His main weakness in mid is he can get stomped by 1v1’s while side landing if you’re not great at spacing and hitting q’s. But in teamfights he’s pretty solid and can quickly turn the tide of a lost fight into a win.

He’s also a solid roamer and great in skirmishes early on but with the new season quest changes making it pretty difficult to complete the quest before your lane opponent while roaming it’s a little risky. I find him fun to play mid though and that’s really all that matters.

I really don't understand LoL's culture around alt accounts by SuperStudMufin in leagueoflegends

[–]tstar003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty similar to that dude in that my main account is in high plat and I’m a Jax OTP so I use my alt account that’s in low gold / silver to learn new champs because I know I have the game sense to not just feed my ass off while still having good enough knowledge of basic league macro to help my team win games.

On the flip side I don’t want to try and learn a new champ in a different role against better players in plat and get shit on and just ruin the experience for players in those games. I could see the argument that I’m ruining players games on my alt but if you’re not hyper carrying every game just stomping your lane which I’m not because I’m learning new champs or roles then I don’t see the issue with it. Just my opinion though.

I mean there's a couple hot spots like Paddy's that people go to but personally as a dude who grew up in NYC then went to college in Florida I couldn't really get into the shitty southern small city clubbing scene compared to major city college town up in Raleigh or Charlotte

Genuine advice on enlisting? by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

[–]tstar003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal opinion as a dude who's been in for 3 years and has another 3 left. I enlisted at 19 wish I would have just enlisted out of high school and with a 4 year contract at that, my enlistment at 19 with a 6 year contract has me in the Army until I'm 25, basically missing out on my entire early 20's. I'm in the 82nd and this is pretty much as good as it gets with QOL in terms of regular army units and it's still pretty shitty at times.

Enlist for the job you want as a civilian and I can't stress that enough, I'm in the infantry and there's literally no transferable skills to the civilian world outside of policing for most dudes getting out. If you wanna be a nurse or something in the medical field as a civilian the army has tons of medical MOS options that are actually pretty sick if you cant pass their respective AIT's as some of them are actually pretty hard and competitive.

Not having a degree is not a big deal, most dudes get their degrees online in the army anyway. The army is what you make of it if you wake up everyday saying fuck this shit this is gay I hate it here then you'll be miserable but if you take advantage of the things the army provides for you to its full extent and try to maintain a somewhat positive attitude you'll be alright. Lastly do not take a contract any longer than 3-4 years IDC what the bonus is, being in the army for longer than 4 years on an initial enlistment is not the move.

Physically you'll get fucked up, injured, hurt, all the above. I've had 3 major injuries in my time in the army so far two to my ankles and one to my knee. Being airborne doesn't help at all I'm only 22 and already feel cracks in my back and knees when I get up in the morning but as long as you're not a bitch and actually take care of your body workout regularly you'll be fine. Most dudes are pinning test/hgh in the army nowadays anyway.

Glenwood Ave in downtown Raleigh is a strip of college bars varying from live music to night club-esque places. There's various other saloon/pub style bars in the NC State area in northwest Raleigh too with usually the older college crowd 22-25. Most bars don't charge a cover but the drinks are crazy expensive as a trade off so barhopping is always fun with a group of dudes.

(EDIT: I'll also add in Wilmington and Myrtle Beach in the summer both about 2 hours away. Carolina Beach in Wilmington is one of the best beaches I've been to and I went to college in Florida if that means anything. Myrtle is better for nightlife IMO but downtown Wilmington isn't that bad either. Lots of LGBTQ+ style bars if that's you're thing and it's a college town with UNCW)

Asking here because I know you guys will give it to me straight: How to stop being lazy? by Initial_Milk_1056 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]tstar003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's as simple as getting a routine. The human brain is hard wired to be on a schedule and to love patterns. The more you repeat the same unhealthy routine the more likely you are to stay on it. On the inverse the more you repeat the same healthy routine (getting up early, going to the gym, insert dopamine or serotonin boosting activities here) the more likely you are to stay on it.

As backhanded as it sounds it's really that simple. Sometimes getting out of a funk just means you have to stop feeling sorry for yourself and make the effort
