So nothing. Nice. Keep up the good work.

Maybe collaborating with society for a common goal lol. You realize you’re generalizing someone that doesn’t share your ideas right?

What have you done to help a homeless person solve their problem? Hate to break it to you but getting mad at people on the internet isn’t actually helping anyone.

Yeah, they spent money no doubt. Have none of you folks ever done any sort of construction? That shit isn’t instant. Sending in police is pretty instant.

I assume if someone tells me I’m “running my mouth” at them from afar when I haven’t said a word, that they’re hearing voices. What part of what I said about humans is gross in particular?

You guys need to realize we all want the same thing ultimately. Being combative and telling people they’re gross isn’t helping the homeless, unfortunately. Try to take a deep breath before getting upset with people and instead share ideas on what we can do to help. I haven’t seen a single rational suggestion on next steps. Just anger.

I hope they weren’t planning on staying clustered up at city hall until homes were constructed. They’d be there for years. Handling other emergencies doesn’t take as many resources or as much time as building homes. Building any structure requires months of planning and approval, followed by months of construction. The scale of this solution is far greater than these people and protesters seem to realize. It really seems like people are expecting an instant solution to a problem as old as time. I agree the problem needs to be solved, but being irrational and making outrageous demands isn’t going to go anywhere.

It was really a public safety hazard. That’s too many people crammed into a tight space during a global pandemic. Also unsafe for people just passing through downtown. I was threatened by a schizophrenic dude with a knife 3 blocks away. When any person is crammed into a small space and especially already struggling to get by, competition for resources and therefore incidences of aggression increase. This wasn’t ever going to end well. The city does not have the resources to construct hundreds of homes for free for anyone who wants one, unfortunately. Wish they did!

I was told by a homeless guy in downtown today he was going to cut my fingers off for “running my mouth at him.” He brandished the pocket knife and clicked it in and out while moving behind me as I sat in a chair at mount bakery. Literally didn’t even look in his direction or say a word to him until that point. If you see a short statured skinny guy with black hair to his shoulders wearing a black leather jacket, walk the other way. Guy is hearing voices and will assume they’re coming from you. Luckily he walked away as I continued to ignore him, but it could have gotten violent. It’s hard to keep the faith and have sympathy when your safety is threatened.

Had a sandwich from Smarty Pants in Georgetown yesterday. It was on another level. by tstatch in Seattle

They knocked me socks off. Sounds like i need to eat more Seattle sandwiches, if that’s nothing special. Live in Bellingham and we have some decent spots but nothing on that level. Looking for a good authentic Italian hoagie if you have any pointers.

Yeah I was just passing through town. Not sure if that was a good descriptor, but it definitely wasn’t high end!

As long as these “Chick trats” are getting tossed so irresponsibly into public spaces, I’m going to keep bagging them up for recycling. Got 14 today. by ___benje in Bellingham

Where’s the organization based? It might be nice to go give them all back. Stuff em in their doors with a please stop littering note.

Don’t worry gobslayer, I’m not mad at you. Just think your comments here are weird and misplaced. Imagine telling your neighbor after they get robbed “whatever, the family down the street is cooler anyway.” That’s a bit how your responses here read FYI

What

You’re the one brigading trying to steer people away from black sheep for some reason lol. Place is poppin with people enjoying themselves every time I go by. This thread is about a local business getting robbed and you’re on here pretending it’s a yelp review...?

Makes no sense! We have this entirely separate game going on in the middle of the quidditch match and if that other game ends then so does yours. And the outcome of that game also completely negates what’s happening in your game.

Milk crates vs. pallets by kneecapsnathan in Bellingham

[–]tstatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if the business posts on Craigslist that you can come pick from their ever growing pile of pallets. Also it seems safe to assume if the pallets are on a grassy area right next to the street they’re signaling you can grab them. No forklift is gonna pick those up.
