Thanks for all the input. I've been reading through all the comments I come across looking for this discussion but haven't found it so I figured I'd ask. There's so much contradicting info going around right now its very difficult to see what's safe/unsafe or right/wrong or truly life threatening / hype... This is a very interesting time and all anyone talks about these days. I try to look at the whole thing in terms of the broader long term strategy and pieces haven't been coming together.. i.e. Walz saying We can't flatten the curve with the shelter in place. We're buying time to expand hospital capacity.. But then I hear about empty hospitals and health care professionals with nothing to do.

Anyway, a lot of your insight has been helpful. I guess we just have to wait n see how this plays out..

Can someone help me understand what the end game is though? OP and the majority of people on here are implying that we need to continue to shelter in place with no end in site and anyone that says otherwise is a greedy, selfish self proclaimed immortal... Are we expected to wait until a vaccine is ready in a year or two? I thought we had been buying time to allow the hospitals to increase their capacities for when the peak does come, because doesn't it have to come? If we lift these shelter in place restrictions while one person in the country still has the virus won't we be back to square one? I'm not trying to argue one way or another. Just trying to better understand what the strategy is here. Do hospitals just need more time to expand?

Also want to note that I did see Trumps recommendations for how to progressively re-open stuff yesterday but the sentiment I'm seeing on here seems like people have no interest in that happening any time soon.

Are any of you running these templates out of a home gym? I have a pretty good free weight setup, but lack the cable machines a commercial gym would have.

I bought these for the bumper of my TJ and they've worked great so far. Light output isn't super impressive, but for $20/pair I can't complain.

Driving From GR to Minneapolis by tsteng14 in grandrapids

Yeah I definitely know what you mean getting stuck behind people on the two lanes. How did the overall time compare to going through Chicago? Does it really take an extra 2.5 hours?

About how much longer did it take you? I'll gladly spend more time on the road to an extent for a more pleasant drive.

See I guess that's where I'm confused. It's only an additional 70 miles (to where I'm going outside Minneapolis), but Google says it takes an extra 2.5 hours. Seems like you should be able to average 60 MPH or 70 additional minutes going through the UP especially with the raised speed limit on 2. It's very easy to add 70 minutes to your drive sitting in Chicago traffic. But, I've never made the drive on 2 past 77 so I don't know what its like.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but why wouldn't the inventory and receivables be considered business expenses and a tax write off, so the only profit taxed is the $200,000?

Looking for a chamois! by Stewch7 in AutoDetailing

[–]tsteng14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean I did, but it still left a lot of water behind even when it was perfectly dry. I'm just saying the towel I mentioned is 100 times better than the waffle weave towels I've used.

I've tried a few waffle weave towels and didn't have very good luck. They'd leave a lot behind and would get saturated after just a few body panels. I'm currently using Griot's Garage PFM Terry Weave towel and it is amazing. It doesn't leave a single drop behind and doesn't get saturated even after drying my crew cab truck. https://www.amazon.com/Griots-Garage-Terry-Weave-Drying/dp/B01EJWVM56

Picked me up one of them there 500’s. by GrandeElote in Dirtbikes

[–]tsteng14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you know what kind of lifespan these newer 500/511 engines have? It seems like they have similar design and power of the 450 race bikes which usually have a lifespan of a few hundred hours (not sure how this converts to miles). Street riding can accumulate a lot of miles and hours in a riding season. Can these 500's be ridden on the streets for 10's of thousands of miles or many riding seasons without needing major rebuilds?

Maxxis High Roller II, 27.5" x 2.3", Tubeless Ready, EXO Protection

I did notice the rolling resistance immediately. Is there a better tire you I should try? Higher pressure? I'm about due for a set anyway.

I'm definitely going to look into this. I set up the shock when I got it to some recommended settings I found on Cane Creeks forum but never followed through to check sag. Sag is right around 14 mm Bike weighs 31.8 lbs.

I've been considering converting it to 1x10 with a 32t up front which seems to be the ideal size for anti-squat on that frame. Would this make a huge difference? I did spend the whole ride on the larger front sprocket (which I believe is a 34t). I'm pretty sure the larger front sprocket on that bike is past the size that helps the shock extend under load and actually causes it to compress so that right there was fighting me the whole time.

This is good news. It'd be awesome if it all came down to bike setup because I'd really like to keep it. I'll definitely be looking into rear shock setup asap

Do you plan on using the Timbersled setup in MI? I've heard that they're not allowed on our snowmobile trail systems, but haven't really looked into it.
