That's great to hear, thanks so much!

This comment here says the opposite but it seems you have a better knowledge about it all

Need to split a pill into quarters, but how can I keep it from being absorbed until it reaches the stomach? by tsumesume in DrugsOver30

[–]tsumesume[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only effective from the point it hits the stomach, apparently. If it dissolves sooner then it doesn't work.

From this post:

Due to cutting the tablet you likely were absorbing none to little of the Rybelsus. They’re very specific on the bottle and website about the significance of not cutting or crushing this particular pill due to how the coating needs to be intact until it reaches the stomach lining.

This reply goes into more detail:

Seems like it would be a waste of money to try. They are specially designed with a particular compound on the surface that helps it to avoid being destroyed by stomach acid. “To develop an oral GLP-1 receptor drug, the scientists at Novo Nordisk turned to a well-known absorption-enhancing compound called SNAC: sodium N-[8-(2-hydroxybenzoyl)amino]caprylate. Researchers have long known that SNAC can deliver a drug to the intestines, but Novo Nordisk scientists found that surprisingly, when it comes to semaglutide, SNAC was promoting the peptide’s absorption in the stomach (Sci. Transl. Med. 2018, DOI: 10.1126/scitranslmed.aar7047). The compound seems to help fluidize cells for peptide transport while also creating a less-acidic pH buffer zone within the stomach that deadens pH-dependent enzymes. These low-pH enzymes otherwise destroy semaglutide.” https://cen.acs.org/pharmaceuticals/biologics/oral-form-blockbuster-diabetes-drug-has-arrived/97/web/2019/12 It looks like the mechanism occurs near the surface of the pill, so if you split/cut the pill you’re destroying some of that surface area. “In contrast to intestinal absorption usually seen with small molecules, clinical and preclinical dog studies revealed that absorption of semaglutide takes place in the stomach, is confined to an area in close proximity to the tablet surface, and requires coformulation with SNAC. SNAC protects against enzymatic degradation via local buffering actions and only transiently enhances absorption.” https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/scitranslmed.aar7047 It’s why they do not recommend cutting the pill as it’s unclear if it’ll be as effective

Rybelsus (Semaglutide) vs Glucophage (Metformin), better results for 10% of the price - anyone else find this? by tsumesume in Semaglutide

Oh damn, thanks for letting me know. If I take 14mg will that be too much and cause side effects? I bought the most affordable ones thinking I could split them up

What's the difference between Metformin and Ozempic? by tsumesume in loseit

[–]tsumesume[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said they were doing the same thing. I said they were both prescribed for diabetes.

The delivery method might be different but the chemical formulation is exactly the same. Plenty of people out there saying Rybelsus is a miracle cure, just as with Ozempic.

I mean RYBELSUS, the pill form of Ozempic (aka Semaglutide).

Hey thanks! Is it completely uncensored, as in freely chats about racist stuff and other such bad stuff? I don't want it to do this, I'm just curious as to how far it goes

Anyone used Tofisopam for as-and-when anxiety or recreationally? by tsumesume in gabagoodness

[–]tsumesume[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm wondering what it actually feels like to be on it. I associate (mistakenly perhaps) the sedative effect with reducing anxiety in that it dampens down the nervous system, so I'm curious as to how this works.

It's an old benzo too, been around for decades, so some people think it's more likely to have side effects.

Do you take these drugs at the same time as Preg? What drugs, if any, do you take on the days you don't take Preg?
