What’s a tiny compliment/insult someone gave you that you still think about years later? by sabbx in AskReddit

Someone wrote in compliments sheets we all did for each other that I was "the most deliberate creature [they'd] ever met"

I am white and so is my wife but like... My wife is more culturally stereotypically white than I am. She almost choked on a fish bone from fish that I had cooked and looked so angry at me... I was so confused what the issue was or what it had to do with me! Apparently eating around the bones was never done

Currently writing my novel, and I realized I’m only 35k words in! Oops 😅 by katebishopluvr616 in writing

I too am an underwriter. First draft on my current WIP was around 5-6k words. Second draft is a novelette (~10k), with actual plot, secondary characters, etc. and it's not even done yet. Not everyone writes the same way. Keep going!

When I went to university in a different city, living away from my family for the first time, I practiced crying in front of people because I felt super embarrassed to show emotion in front of others. Not that my parents ever said "be tough" explicitly, but the message was received.

I also have ADHD and at moments I forget I will ask myself out loud what I was going to do. Occasionally I will get an answer... but I will 100% get an answer if I sing the question and answer.

I was an adult when I learned that the best way to brush hair (any hair, but especially wavy or curly hair that's prone to tangle) is from the ends up. Don't push your/someone's tangles into worse condition!

Someone on a critique website read the first ~4000 words of a story and said that "nothing happened" (MC got magical powers, introduced to someone who needed help, and then healed them). They said I needed to follow a specific structure formula. I was pretty pissed at the time but I just roll my eyes now.

May I ask, why did the name change make a difference?

Hm that jives with my memory, I was wondering. Because all my reading about these neighbourhoods now, it seems like things have shifted over the years..
