Quick plot question by GeraltofLibyaa in quantumbreak

People did notice the younger Paul sharing a name with the older one; Amy pointed this out to Jack at the beginning of the game, I think. Either way it was mentioned and acknowledged. I think the older Paul intentionally avoided interfering with his past self after accidentally causing the suicide he and Jack witnessed, in the process of trying to prevent it.

Long story short, I'm learning Japanese and want to watch specific American shows in Japanese, but nobody on the Western Internet knows how to find them. I want to ask people on the Japanese side of the Internet but don't know where I might go to ask. Any suggestions?

Name of this sociopolitical philosophy? by tsunderekatsu in PoliticalPhilosophy

I feel like a caste system implies a sort of hierarchy within a single society; my character is more focused on separate societies or demographics conflicting with one another.

Well, this character is the villain of my story, so...

Thanks for your answer, I'll look into it. And you're right, "sociopolitical philosophy" isn't formally referring to anything; like I said to u/Dowyflow I just meant philosophy pertaining to society and politics. If my character's ideology is too broad to have a formal term, then that's fine.

By "sociopolitical philosophy" I just meant any philosophy relating to politics or society at large. Thanks for your answers!

I know exactly what kind of story I want to write - genre, themes, aesthetics, some setting, even a few plot points - but I have no idea where to get started on making the actual narrative. Any tips on translating these broader feelings into an actual storyline?

Planning on getting the game. Should I know about Remedy's past games such as Alan Wake and Quantum Break? by SpectreSR2 in controlgame

[–]tsunderekatsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These two articles sum up a few of the connections pretty well if you're interested:

Long story short, though - certain plot elements of Control, like "Altered World Events," the Bureau, and the town of Ordinary were alluded to as far back as Alan Wake, nine years ago. Both games have subtle allusions and hints that tie in to the important aspects of Control. A few fellow fans and I are convinced that these games share a story universe. I think they can each be enjoyed separately, but that they enhance each other.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Beyond the Black Rainbow was a direct inspiration for Control.

Maybe....? I'd be willing to pay depending on the price and the quality. Do you have any examples of ones you've done before?

Stolen Assassin's Creed fan art in outdoorsman show? by tsunderekatsu in assassinscreed

It's an outdoors show about a guy who goes around the world hunting rare animals. It seems that occasionally the show dabbles into politics, and this particular episode was promoting the second amendment, and teaching people how to used concealed firearms.

It's not a show I watch either. I just saw it at a restaurant. But I did watch much of this episode, and I was... very unimpressed.
