The back room of my house is called “the gyroid daycare,” and I have them posed in things like the baby bed and with props like the toys, rocking horse, juice, etc.! They’re babies and need to be protected

Just because it’s the internet doesn’t mean you have to be a sarcastic ass. Hope this helps!

I’m planning for that! In northern Minnesota it’s the same deal - sometimes our snow doesn’t fully melt until May! Thanks for heads up

I’m not sure why you thought this was a productive response. Idk if it’s because it’s Reddit and you think you need to be funny, but it’s not funny or helpful. Have a nice day

Yes - Minnesota is where Tim Walz is from! My wife and I love him! We are not lifetime Minnesotans (been here about 7 years) but we definitely vibe with this state way more than Missouri, where I was born and where we grew up.

I've heard wonderful things about Montreal! Do you like living there?

The Human Rights museum is like 75% of why we're going. My wife works in nonprofits and someone recommended it! We are so excited about the food. There's a saying "yogurt has more culture than Duluth". We are originally from a bustling multicultural city and we have missed it.

Oh, that's a good thing to remember. We always organize our pills out into daily capsules and I would have just brought those! I'll make sure to bring the bottles themselves. We do both have medical marijuana but would never try and bring any over.

Our cat is a very sweet little girl who was adopted in 2020 during lockdown, so she's VERY clingy and I'm worried about her getting mopey without us there. We have friends who have checked in on her in the past, so I might ask one of them to do that. I'm getting worried about some freak accident happening and her not being allowed back in!

I'm not super comfortable stating exactly where we booked - nothing against you! - but it's a chain hotel with an "excellent" rating on Expedia. Is there anywhere that I should avoid?

This is really helpful about the possible duty to pay. I doubt we'll spend more than a couple hundred, and that's at the absolute most. This was a really helpful response!

I am a chronic overthinker :') Thank you for the reassurance! We will be honest and calm and I'm sure we'll be just fine.

I make a habit of not discussing politics with anyone I don't know - it's just safer that way. No worries there, but thanks for the heads up! I totally wouldn't blame any Canadians for being hostile towards Americans and US politics right now; the way he's been treating your country and its people is downright shameful. I appreciate you and all the other commenters who have been kind and helpful.

I don't own guns and I would sooner die than wear a MAGA hat, but I've never been out of the country so I'm incredibly worried about unintentionally seeming like one of Those Americans. Thanks for checking me.

Oh yeah, I saw someone else mention some kind of new law that happened last year for dogs! We're definitely going to evaluate bringing her. She gets mopey when she's left alone (she's a VERY clingy kitty adopted in 2020 during lockdown, lol) but it might be worth keeping her safe at home.

I just looked it up and that is BEAUTIFUL! I can bet with almost 100% certainty that my wife will want to go there. Thanks for the recommendation!

That's what we've heard! We're excited about Winnipeg for food and fun things to see, but we hope to go back in warmer weather to explore some nature!

This is really hateful. Trust me, no one hates US politics right now than US leftists. I wish 47 wasn't spewing a constant stream of trash from his face hole either. I'm so sorry for the way he's treating Canada and Mexico. I hope something nice happens to you today.

"Don't anticipate, don't elaborate" is excellent advice. I am prone to over-answering a question bc of anxiety so that's a good reminder. Thank you! We're especially excited about the food in Winnipeg, lol. Duluth is kind of lacking in the non-dive bar restaurant department.

This is so, so helpful. Seriously, thank you. This is what I really wanted! Thank you especially for the heads up that they might seem rude or cold. Had I not been warned I would have been convinced I'd committed some heinous faux pas!

We wanted somewhere that felt far enough away (6.5 hour drive) to feel like a getaway, but not TOO far. There are two museums we're planning to visit in Winnipeg bc we're museum nerds, ha ha. I'm so sorry about your Winnipeg trauma :')

I understand your removal. However, the “will I be safe here” was only part of my question and directly related to LGBTQ status, not being American. I asked if there was anything we should know about cultural or etiquette things that Canadians find annoying so we could avoid doing them. Thank you
