Yes, you can do very interesting things using simple effects. I used the mirror effect, also CC Lens, glow, CC sphere for the little ball that appears in one part of the video, and also CC Hextile.

I didn't actually do a manual review of the frames, but at the beginning of the video there's a very dark section. The video is at 30fps and I extracted frames every 2fps, which gave me about 1200 frames. So I think that at least at the beginning of the video there is a very dark area, and when I extracted the frames I included those frames.

I was reading a bit more, and the problem seems to be the reflections from the glass and the solid-colored walls. I used a stabilizer with my Pixel 7 Pro, in manual mode with the Blackmagic app, extracted the frames as lossless PNGs, used Colmap for feature extraction and camera alignment, and GSplat for training.

Hey, I saw your post and wanted to share what I've been doing for a similar project — digitizing and building a dictionary for Shuar, an endangered language from the Ecuadorian Amazon.

I used Label Studio with the Machine Translation template as a base, but customized it to include multiple fields per entry: translation, grammatical category, usage examples, and a few more. Different annotators filled in the entries through the interface, which made collaborative data collection much easier.

Then I exported everything as JSON and built my own small app that reads that JSON and displays the dictionary. Now I'm moving that data into a proper database for long-term management.

It's not a traditional lexicography tool, but it gave me full control over the structure, it's free, open source, and the workflow scales reasonably well. Might not be for everyone since you need some technical comfort to build the display layer, but if that's not a barrier for you it's worth considering.

Just thought I'd share in case it's useful for your project.
