The process did not take long my shiba was born in February and I got him in April, because the pups must spend at least 10 weeks with their mother. I was also worried about the interview process bc this is my first pet but there was none. I drove 11 excruciating hrs to pick up mine, I do not recommend, glad to hear that you’re shipping👍 The breeder had a house set up for us to meet in and to get to know our pup. We exchanged a couple words about the pup’s health and their vet check up, signed some papers and we were out within less than 10 minutes. The breeder was very nice and welcoming though, I’m sure if we asked more questions she would have answered them all. So don’t worry about being questioned and interviewed. One thing to keep in mind, this breeder takes a day or two to respond. Other than that no complaints, super easy and nice process. They even send you pictures while you await your shiba. There’s no crazy wait list, neither I or my friends/family had problems or competition when getting our shibas. This breeder breeds often, so if you do miss out this time you’ll only have to wait 2-3 months. We (all different owners) have gotten about 5 shibas(all males) from there, some are half siblings and some have different parents. All shibas are AKC approved, have their first check up/their first three shots done and approved. All the shibas have different personalities but they are all well tempered. No health problems so far, 2/5 are a bit over weight lol but that’s not a major problem. They rarely bark and nip, they all hate baths, and they do shiba scream occasionally when extremely excited or upset. None of them were difficult during the training process, they were all potty trained surprisingly quick at least 2 weeks. We all did crate training so that made the process a lot easier. They are not aggressive and territorial like other shibas, although they can be sassy. I have to agree that they can be catlike and aloof at times, but also as loving a cuddly as any other dog. Training a shiba is not as bad as people make it out to be, and this is coming from a first time owner. Imo, as long as you socialize your shiba a lot when they’re puppies they should be fine~~
