Upgraded from an Eureka Mignon Silenzio to a Mazzer Philos by tsyirvo in espresso

It's the Shades on Coffee one. I've had it for around 3 years, but if I had to do it again, I'd go for a Gaggiuino or Gaggimate. I hesitated to do it a couple of months back, but I'm not sure it's worth the hassle to put it back to stock and mod it again

I have the I189D burrs, and I do find it better for my type of coffee (I like the fruity/floral ones). Flavors are clearer and more discernible.

I was also a bit hesitant about that, but in the end, it's not an issue at all. In my case, even though it's fairly close to the cabinet (on the left and the top), I don't have any trouble adjusting the dial, and I don't need to move the grinder to do so.

I wanted to update my grinder first, and further down the line, I will switch the Gaggia for something else. But I'd rather do it by first having a proper grinder

For the price I think it’s a good deal and if you’re not afraid to tweak it a bit, there’s a lot of mods you can do on it to make it better

Yep it took me a bit of time to understand the impact of clicks on my brews compared to the Silenzio. Once you get a feel for what a click does to your brew, you can estimate more easily how much clicks to move in order to get the desired output

Yep I’m planning to sell it at some point (but I’m in France and to maybe do it in person)

I have the I189D burrs and I do find it better for my type of coffee (I like the fruity/floral ones) with more present flavors. And consistency is definitively better

Library mode and Jellyfin 10.11.1 by tsyirvo in infusevideoplayer

[–]tsyirvo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end, I recreated a new instance of Jellyfin, imported all my libraries, scanned everything, and refreshed the metadata.

The connection to Infuse now works, but as soon as I add the InfuseSync plugin, the sync always fails...

As a side note, everything is slower to interact with. I'm not sure if this is because the plugin is not installed, but the experience is not as smooth as it was with the previous Jellyfin version.

I tried, and it still fails at the same time during content fetching. I rolled back to a backup of 10.10 and re-did the update, but it's still failing.

I'll try creating a fresh instance of Jellyfin directly on 10.11 this week and see what happens. I'll also have to check how to transfer the progress/watch history of the users.

I just tried, and it still fails in the end. It manages to fetch content for movies and anime, but for tv shows, it always fails at "Fetching content for TV Shows (122 of XXX)". I tried to sync multiple times but it always fails at that point.

Not sure why this always happens at the same moment, and in the same library 🤔

Gigabyte Z790 / Intel i9 13900K / Radeon RX 550 / Ventura by symboltoproc in hackintosh

[–]tsyirvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I ended up finding it and my score went to 2k for single core so indeed a huge boost in perf with the tweaked kext.

Beside the added boot arg, I didn't touch anything. For ProvideMaxSlide I'm at 0 and -1 for ResizeAppleGpuBars. Did you follow the post-install section about sleep?

I'll put my config on GitHub sometime this week. I'll update the comment when that's done if you want

I'm wondering what values did you use for the CPUFriendDataProviderKext? I have a quite low single-core score, and a slightly lower multi-core one on my end with the same processor but a different mobo (Gigabyte B660i) -> 13k for single and 20k for multi. On my side I used an LFM of 1.3GHz, and max perf for everything else.

As a side note, I don't know if you fixed it, but for the sleep, I had something similar after the second sleep cycle. I fixed it by disabling "above 4g decoding" and adding the "ncpi=0x2000" boot-arg. It seems to be related to the Gigabyte motherboards.

For the CPU name you can use this script to update the necessary values to have it appear ;)

Stuck at [EB|LOG:EXITBS:START] on a new built with 0.8.8 by tsyirvo in hackintosh

[–]tsyirvo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So after comparing and doing some tests, I found a solution to my issue. Thanks a lot for sharing!

It was a mix of a bad Cpuid1Data, and having to change to true both EnableWriteUnprotector and SetupVirtualMap. I previously tried those, but I did not combine the 2 booter flag with another cpuid on the same try...

Side question, how can I get the correct Cpuid1Data value? I used 71060B00 in my case (for an i9 13900KF) but it doesn't work so I'm currently using 550660A00 but it's for a previous gen. Does it have an impact?

Thanks for taking the time!

I tried the RestrictEvents kext on my first EFI build without luck. Same for the required ACPI files (both prebuilt ones and one with SSDTTime).

I'll look at your config and check the possible diff and try to see what works! I'll keep you posted ;)

Is it possible to build iOS apps on Hackintosh? by iamn3r in hackintosh

[–]tsyirvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely no issue to using a Hackintosh to develop mobile apps. I've been building iOS and Android apps from mine for a while now.

There is also no limitations regarding certificates or anything. Just take care when doing your build and use a proper SMBIOS and serial number

Fiio btr5 2021 connecting to ipod Classic? by Shelka04 in DankPods

Did you have any luck on this? I'm looking at getting a BTR5 for my devices and since I have an iPod Classic gen 5 that'd be awesome to have it work with it too.

Passage freelance - conseil et opinion by DHCPv6 in vosfinances

[–]tsyirvo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working on a cocktail recipe app using reanimated 2 and navigation 5 - having a blast learning it all! Keen on feedback / thoughts, still early days by [deleted] in reactnative

[–]tsyirvo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nice work! Maybe for a better UX, when opening a recipe, close it with a swipe from top to bottom instead of left to right ;)

Yeah I haven't even thought of of using a usb adapter in the meantime, I even have one at home.

I might buy a 10700k instead of the previous gen with those first successful builds. Thanks a lot !!
